Quickies:

Pay attention to your verbs. Pick active verbs. “is” and “Have” don’t convey that something is happening.

Shorter is better. Examine your sentences and reduce the word counts. Then, examine the words and consider reducing the syllable count by using shorter words. Example: “use” rather than “utilize”.

Look at your adverbs – do they really help? “Very” in particular can usually be taken out and surprise! The sentence feels stronger.

Read stuff you like – it doesn’t have to be books. When you read a word you don’t know, look it up. Then find chances to use the word until it’s cemented in your brain. Then read some more.
