Well it really does depend on how you are spending. There are tons of little ways to save money. When my dad lost his job our family had to change all of our spending habits. Here are some of the things we did:
- Began buying mostly store brand, not name brand
- Become resourceful- use stuff around your house for a variety of different things
- Don’t waste food
- Buy only what we need
- Eat out less
There are tons of other ways we did it. If you really think about it it’s very simple.
Julie wrote some good tips. I would just add that every 6 months, I look at my spending habits and my monthly expenses and then try to identify things that I could live without
ie.Do I really need call display when I have an answering machine?
Try to identify the things that you need vs the things that you want.
Remember that every little bit helps. Even if you only shave off 20$/month, that’s 240$ a year that you would have not otherwise saved.
Sounds great, need to do this!
