8 weeks and 1 day! 20 months ago
I’ve finally started properly focusing on losing weight. I’ve always had success with counting calories, so I’m using the My Fitness Pal app and it’s going really well. Five days in and I’ve lost 1.4kg (I know most of that will be fluid though!)
I’m hoping to be 75kg by November 12, so I’ll look better in a bikini while we’re in Vanuatu! After that, the goal is to get to 70-72kg and maintain for a while and reassess.
I can do it!!! 20 months ago
After a year of physio and myo, I am officially back running. I have to start on C25K again from week 3 onwards, but I’m fine with that… Just so happy to be finally running again! 20 months ago
Seven Samurai is ridiculously long, especially for a movie with subtitles. Iām halfway through it.

I’ve always been a big meat eater, but lately I’ve been questioning my need for meat. I’ve introduced a couple of vegetarian meals a week into our meal plan, and my boyfriend is ok with that.
Then… yesterday, while driving into town, I got stuck behind a truck carrying live chickens (off to the slaughter house, I imagine). They were all crammed inside impossibly tiny plastic cages with no protection from the elements, feathers were flying everywhere and they looked so distressed as the truck hurtled at 100km/hr down the highway. I felt immediately sick. I still feel sick now thinking about it.
I’m looking at the PETA ‘vegetarian starter’ website right now, and that is making me just sick too.
Never before have I really, REALLY thought about the price that is paid by these animals, just so I can eat my piece of steak at dinner time.
I think firstly I need to cut back on the amount of meat I eat. I’ll start by eliminating meat from breakfasts and lunches. And I’ll try and limit meat at dinner time to 4 times a week, and I’ll see how I go.
I live on a farm with sheep, cows and chooks. If I am feeling weak-minded and wanting to eat meat, I’ll just look outside and imagine killing one of my pets.
Any other tips or hints, people?

Hopefully I’ll take a short course in massage early next year. I’d like to do it this year, but I’m going away on holidays and I’d miss two sessions. I really want to be able to give my boyfriend an awesome relaxing massage! 20 months ago
