wednesday pool session we clocked up 1.9km.
pretty happy with that!
Today’s ocean session started from the shore and headed out with the current, around our markers, and then back to shore with the surf.
3 set of that with progressively further disctances… reasonable swell, and a few mouthfuls of water.
turns out I’m not quite as good at body surfing as I remember! 5 months ago
Unfortunately, I haven’t been pushing myself as hard as I should have been.
I joined up with NRG runners a few weeks ago, and made it along to the Thursday night run last week. I was trying to use it as a Tempo run, and I guess it worked for that, but the mid-middies group was probably a little too fast for me! http://connect.garmin.com/activity/232243749
I managed to get out for a run on Saturday morning in spite of the drinks I consumed on Friday night. With the aim of staying in the 70-75% of mhr, it was a very slow run – http://connect.garmin.com/activity/232734240
tonight I went along for an interval session, 6×3 min sprints with 2 min walking/standing recoveries – http://connect.garmin.com/activity/233671330 mhr of my VO2, so again, that seems to be consistent. 7 months ago

I think completing the half marathon probably means I completed this… indirectly 8 months ago
This year, through some encouragement from friends, I signed up to train for the sydney running festival half marathon with cantoo.
www.cantoo.org.au have a really fabulous program that runs in different locations around Australia.
I recommend a basic level of fitness, as 21.1km is a long way.
The program progresses over 14 weeks and in exchange for raising funds for Cure Cancer Australia provides weekly track and distance training sessions, fitness advice, nutrion assistance, groups support, social interaction and mentoring and coaching.
You definitely only get out what you put in,
for 14 weeks I didn’t miss a single track night and ran every weekend.
I also went to the gym to work on my core strength through pilates and yoga, adding additional runs in my own time and some cross training as per the prescribed program.
I went from running a rather slow 5km time trial, to finishing the half marathon in 2 hours 3 mins 15 seconds.
Not bad for someone who’d previously never run more than about 8 kilometres without stopping! 8 months ago
every time I feel like I might be getting somewhere, I seem to go backwards.
Good news is I haven’t outgrown any other jeans just yet…
I’m thinking maybe a food journal might be a good idea.
moving house and packing up my life probably isn’t helping. It makes me reluctant to shop for food, which means I’m doing a lot of takeaway.
this combined with idleness and lack of motivation to actually get up and do things in the morning.
I’d like to think if I had a car things might be easier, but realistically speaking, getting up in the morning and running before work is a lot less upkeep than a car! 1 year ago
but am going to try and get this happening again.
I have a month to achieve this
and you know what they say, conceive, believe, achieve. 1 year ago
but for mothers day this year I put together a selections of photos from my Mum’s wedding last year and got them printed up.
I have also gone ahead and bought some coupons for photo books which will expire in September so I plan the following themes –
Japan
South America
2009 – 11 short breaks
and hopefully will have just enough time to quickly put one together of this year’s big trip in July/August. 1 year ago
ok,
It’s been a long time since I listed this goal and even tried to do anything about it, but last month I went and did an introduction to dSLR photography and learned how to correctly use the S A and M settings.
a lot came back, and I even did a half decent attempt at panning.
I have to no admit that I’ve left my SD card with My sister, so hopefully I can get her to email me said awesome photos…
in any case, one step closer to this, and I promise never again to use “auto”. 1 year ago
