At present I have Rs 5300 ( @9.40 for 90month) & Rs 7700( @8.75 for 120month) in Fixed Deposit. This is a total of Rs13,000. So, by the end of 2013 I have to save Rs37,000.
This is not an impossible task but I have to work hard towards it. 5 months ago

I have to kick this unhealthy habit and instead of making a generic goal to avoid all soda/carbonated drinks I have decided to be more specific. So, I’m limiting myself rt now to just 14 days and then review the progress I make and adjust the goal.
The larger goal is still the same – to eliminate or at the very least greatly reduce the amount of sugared soft drinks (cold-drinks) that I consume.
To check my consumption I noted my intake and discovered that I consume about 5 bottles of a cold drink per week. At Rs12 & 200ml per bottle that is
01 Week-—-—- Rs60 1L
01 Month-—-— Rs240 4L
01 Year-—-—- Rs2880 48L
10 Years-—-— Rs28800 480L 6 months ago

I am saddened to note that I have again taken up drinking one cold-drink daily. The break that I get between my classes, I go to a shop and have either a sprite or Coke.
I have decided many a times to stop this but have been mostly unsuccessful.
3 things I am doing to avoid this trap
1. I take my own tea or coffee to work.
2. I have set a limit of 12 cold-drinks for the month of Sept.
3. Read or listen to music as a means to relax as opposed to hurrying to he shop and guzzling down a bottle – all in the name to relax.
I hope I manage to reduce the number of cold-drinks I consume.
The shop that I go to charges Rs.12/bottle while the price is Rs.09/bottle. I feel very bad that I am supporting this loot.
The money that I save, I plan to either put in my saving account or maybe to eat out. 8 months ago

1 July 2012.
This has been a mixed bag.
1. Almost given up Coke and Diet Coke
2. Rarely take sugar in my tea.
3. I rarely eat Maggie anymore but Ninni often cooks noodles at home with vegetables and all. Although they are more healthy than Maggie but I should limit them too.
4. Mithai, pastries, biscuits – I’ve not been able to avoid these and still consume some or the other almost daily. 10 months ago

I planned to read 43 books in 2011 but failed miserably in that goal and one of the reasons might have been the fact that I wasn’t specific enough.
So for 2012 I am going to make a list of books that I want to read and then read them. 17 months ago

I managed to finish only the following books this year. The Blue Umbrella – Ruskin Bond, Animal Farm – George Orwell, Matarese Countdown – Robert Ludlum, The Silence of the Lambs – Thomas Harris and I’m reading Jane Eyre – Charlotte Bronte now.
Pretty far from the lofty 43 that I dreamed of finishing. 17 months ago
