I recently deleted this because I had a temporary loss of willpower where I gave up. I’m okay now and I’m not going to renew the lease on the dump I live in.
Back to work, I’m determined to move into the building I’ve been watching and photographing and researching online for a couple of years.
My daughter and I have our hearts set on that place, and I’m willing to do the work to make that happen.

I had a hoard of beautiful Japanese postcards that I bought on eBay.
Apart from occasionally looking at them when I went through my stationery drawer, I wasn’t really doing anything with them.
So I picked my 3 favorites to frame and sold the rest.
If I’m going to move to a better apartment, I have to downsize, simplify and let go of things.
This is going to be an ongoing project. I just dropped off three bags of books at Goodwill. I’m in a “letting go of things” phase and I’m being kind of ruthless and it feels good. 1 week ago

During Back To College time towards the end of summer, cute dishes and comforter sets go on sale because kids moving out on their own for the first time want cool dorm decor.

I can relate to having a lot of notebooks and Post Its but you can use them to keep track of your goals and manage your time.
I stick Post Its to my calendar to remind me of important things I have to do.
I use one notebook for art ideas and thumbnail sketches, one for shopping lists, and one for writing down random junk I need to remember.
I’m sure once you decide on a purpose for each notebook, you’ll get good use out of them. 2 months ago
I bought myself a digital camera for Christmas and I know how to press 3 buttons. I’m taking decent indoor photos, but I haven’t learned how to do outdoor photos in natural light, zoom in on small things like insects or take low light photos.
To get the most use out of the camera, I have to learn how to do more than take indoor photos so I’ll have to study the manual. 2 months ago
So, my eBay account went to hell 7 years ago when I had a series of personal setbacks that left me broke, unemployed, a single parent and without a computer or internet access. I had 6 sold items that needed to be shipped when my personal life imploded, so when I finally got back online, my eBay account was trashed and my reputation was in tatters.
Anyway, I distributed refunds to the people that were affected and I’ve been fighting to restore my account for years.
I originally added this goal to 43 Things 15 months ago and then gave up on it last year. But I just got a call yesterday that my account was reinstated.
So I’m adding this back so I can mark it as done, because I don’t feel too great about the fact that I originally gave up.

Student loan repayments are one of the least interesting parts of my life, but eliminating that debt from my life is important so I can fix my credit and be free and unburdened in the future.
I started a repayment plan and I’ve made 3 monthly payments so far,
so now I just have to keep up those payments and be consistent.

It’s after New Year’s Day and I’m still not done with the new year deep cleaning. I got sidetracked yesterday cleaning the inside of my computer’s CPU with a vacuum and some canned air.
It’s amazing how dirty computers get.
I might been a little too ambitious to think that I could clean every nook and cranny of this place during a single holiday. I’ll see how much I can get done in a week and call this done on Jan 6. 5 months ago
It’s New Year’s Day. Normally ,I would be hitting all the 75% off after Christmas sales and making out like a bandit.
But this time I’m avoiding the stores completely. In fact I did all my Christmas shopping online this year and avoided setting foot in stores.
Of course I love 75% off holiday markdowns but I’m taking a stand and deciding that I want a new apartment more than I want stuff.
In the long run, moving will make me happier than the temporary fun of retail therapy.
There will be a lot of times in the coming months where I’ll have to ask myself, “Do I want this item or do I want an apartment?”
I’m up to the challenge because I’m tired of repeating the same pattern and I want to see changes. 5 months ago

I totally understand. I hope you get closer to that goal in 2013.
For now, I’m making this my top goal and letting the other 32 things slide.
Even though the place I want to move to is still a rental, it’s still away from my relatives.
I’m very supportive of my daughter making art and music, and I like to stay up late myself and make art.
But my relatives think I should be more conservative and serious and a stricter parent. One of them suggested military school for my daughter. (She’s a good kid, just very dreamy and creative.)
Since I rent from them, I hear a lot of their input.
So, in my case even moving to another rental would give me freedom. Good luck with making your house happen. 5 months ago
I was shopping with my teenager and laughing, and the security guard by the front entrance of Walmart asked the two of us, “What school do you girls go to?” Not bad for a 38 year old.
Two more years to go. Unless something major happens to ravage my looks in the next 24 months , I might reach this goal.
