I have my plane tickets, my boat tickets, and my amazing friends waiting for me to accomplish this in about one month. I am so very excited. Lets hope there are less leeches than last time I backpacked in the U.P. 13 months ago

How I did it: I arbitrarily decided one day that I was going to run a half marathon on my (weekend) birthday this year. Make it memorable, right? Anyhow since I had that date picked it was simple to decide between the two races that were within reasonable distance of me. I picked the one that was more scenic/rural & less crowded... because I didn't need to worry about parking before worrying about running a half marathon.
Then I followed a half marathon training plan that I had from a self magazine last year. It was pretty generic, running 17 to 25 miles per week (long runs Sunday, speed runs Tuesday, etc.)
Panic. Go. 2:06 Latter Relax!

I have been working from home recently and it is so hard to retain focus. So I have decided to Refocus on Focus! :D
A daily goal list appeals to me, and I am going to go make one after I am done typing this in the format shown on this blog: http://cornflowerbluestudio.blogspot.com/2012/02/diy-rotating-goal-list.html
On that daily goal list: Set up my FREAKing desk. Ugh, how can I focus on the bed? lol. I will check back in after a week, to see what has helped/what has not! 14 months ago

How I did it: I kept on giving at least $100-200 per month, more if i had some $ to spare. It was a slow process since I had minimal income, and would get set back where I would have to start using my card again to help pay for a move, but the persistence paid off as I am now in the GREEN (or black, whatever.) !!! This goal has been on my list for a while, and as I looked at it today I wondered what the heck I was waiting for? So today I made my first loan to Eunice in Mumias, Kenya so she increase he molasses production to support her family. Awesome, I am excited to finally get started with this. 15 months ago

I have been meaning to make a tee shirt quilt for a while, but without a template have little faith in myself. Instead I have started using the format of this “Scrap Vomit” quilt – http://imagingermonkey.blogspot.com/2010/10/care-for-some-scrap-vomit-aka-quilt.html with my tees. My initial goal is to fish in the next 4 month! 15 months ago

1. List how your pets will be taken care of during the day – THEY CARE! While most other companies are like – “What, they are not children? Who cares?”
2. You have to be a Vegan while working at PETA (right?)
3. Name dropping your crazy animal welfare twitter account in your cover letter – totally legit. 19 months ago

How I did it:
After reserving day passes in the morning months ahead of time we decided to do the dome backpacking instead. These passes we slightly easier to get, just make sure to mention you are doing half dome to get your permit!
Day 1: Started late morning up the Mist Trail. Ended at Little Yosemite Backpackers camp. This place is deluxe, with a composting toilet, bear lockers, and community fire rings. Lots of great people.
Day 2: Started ~7:30, leaving the majority of our stuff at Little Yo. We got to the cables before the rush. AWESOME. Hiked back down on John Muir Trail. Out before 5pm.

I fell off the proverbial mat last week when I went home for a friends wedding. there was so much going on and I felt obnoxious having to “insist” to do yoga even though I was supposed to be around others and visiting/driving to visit people at all times.
Oh well, I will officially restart today with yoga for runners: http://www.fitsugar.com/Yoga-Runners-Video-Explanation-14921385 21 months ago

I think this is day eight. in the last 5 days I have done some weird sessions…
-A yoga for runners that was super complex. They should know my legs wont bend like that, and give me an alternate
- Poor night time yoga youtube video, which searching for lead to the discovery of “Sexy yoga” on youtube, ugh.
-Randomly stretching my back to different poses researched online
-& sun salutations when everything seems to get out of hand
Today though I checked out netflix instant for some videos and the women who instructs “Yoga for Health: Basic” is the most calming person I heard online. I want a recording of her telling me to relax for my flight latter tonight. 21 months ago

after missing a day because of a crazy driving schedule/being lazy sleepy I have my routine from last night and this morning.
Evening Wind Down from YogaToday (12min): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zohLERGZ-U
Morning Flow from Yogatic (9.5 min): http://www.yogatic.com/yoga-video/morning-flow/
I know I have been doing some very short sessions – but I am still warming up to it. Something is better then nothing, right? And really I just want to make this a routine, and I feel like I can still do 10 mins of yoga and not be late to work – but 20 is pushing it. I should do some evening yoga earlier and get to sleep on time so I can wake up early again! 21 months ago

In the spirit of the 30 day challenges (check out this TED talk!: http://www.ted.com/talks/matt_cutts_try_something_new_for_30_days.html ) I want to challenge myself to do yoga. I have taken quite a few classes before, but find practicing by my own broke self very challenging. My back has been feeling funny though… and I will be sleeping on a plane and a backpacking mat soon, so:
My day one resource comes from a quick google search of morning practices. It is a good video, with alto of kneeling and standing poses. I think the sun salutation left me off balance though. http://www.yogajournal.com/video/53 21 months ago
