Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

I have, amazingly, cleared out my closet of clothes that no longer fit me, I never wear or I just plain don’t want anymore. Go me! 2 years ago

CloudnightlyUm, hahahha

So, I haven’t logged in for a while now…of course this wasn’t entirely my fault. Well, working double shift and then going on leave… I could have pushed it, but I didn’t. Not a big pusher, lol. I know, lame joke. In any case, I’m here to update so lets get started. 2 years ago

79kg! Yes, I am soooo very happy about my progress in this goal. I owe it all to the carrots and my growing obsession of them. Tasty and low in calories. That and of course, you probably won’t be able to believe it, I’ve started a exercise routine. Small one of course, but you know baby steps. Yes, me, exercising. I can hardly believe it myself. Oh well, next weigh in is Monday, so fingers crossed. 2 years ago

CloudnightlyWhat a list

Been going through my listing, ditching those that I don;t really care for. Also I seemed to have a few that were rather similar. You know, same thing different name and all that jazz. I actually finished a few goals that I forgot I had and it’s good to see that I’ve made more progress than I thought I had. Things feel better now, cleaner. 2 years ago

My deadline is winding down and I’m no where near ready. It’s been months since I’ve driven. I have serious doubts I’m going to make the deadline, but maybe things’ll turn around for me. Fingers crossed. 2 years ago

Now that I’ve got a scanner I finally feel like I can throw away all the scaps of art I’ve holding onto. 2 years ago

CloudnightlyDon't know who came up with this, but I love it!

Breathe. It’s just a bad day. Not a bad life 2 years ago

The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it – Henry David Thoreau 2 years ago

Life isn’t a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ‘Woohoo WHAT A RIDE’! 2 years ago

. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make, the better – Ralph Waldo Emerson 2 years ago

The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be – Marcel Pagnol 2 years ago

CloudnightlyWhich gets me thinking

We don’t see things the way they are. We see them the way WE are – Talmud. 2 years ago

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself – George Bernard Shaw. 2 years ago

CloudnightlyNo progress

With all that’s been happening I haven’t even gotten a chance to put pen to paper. Hopefully that’ll change soon. 2 years ago

CloudnightlyIf I'm not mistaken

Then I’m only 53 deviations. Ok, this isn’t all drawings, some are peoms, but I’ve posted none the less. 2 years ago

I suck at savings but I will do this!. You know, one day. 2 years ago

CloudnightlyDone a few

Still need to do the rest. Like one day when I remember. 2 years ago

CloudnightlyWell, no licence

So no car on the books. Although I’m beginning to think that’s just an excuse because I suck at savings! 2 years ago

Yeah, not there yet. However I have been asking around for help in learning to drive. Once I feel I’m ready there I’ll book my two compulsory lesson and after that its licensing time. Hopefully within this year! 2 years ago

CloudnightlyFlash that winning smile.

It’s a fact that people are more attractive when they smile. People just want to be around you more. Not everybody who doesn’t smile is sad, sometimes it just doesn’t occur to smile. Keeping it in mind and trying to practice it as much as possible will help it come more naturally. You;re defiantly right when you say just smiling more will automatically make you feel a bit happier. It’s been proving that smiling helps release feel good endorphins. 2 years ago

Getting a little longer now, guess all the dyeing and crap doesn’t help much. Why on earth did I cut my hair again? 2 years ago

Nearly there…hopefully this month. 2 years ago

CloudnightlyMeditate on this one

Unless sitting around mindlessly daydreaming equates, things aren’t much happening here. Mostly because I can never remember…maybe I should just write it on my hand, that usually helps when I need to remember to buy bread… 2 years ago

What ever happened to step a, b or c. Hell I’d settle for a step d right about now… 2 years ago

CloudnightlyTomorrow morning

I will start. I swear. Or I’ll, well I’m not sure what but this goal has been stagnating long enough. 2 years ago

CloudnightlyOne of these days

I’ll be a monstrous blogging machine. That day is not yet here. I think that you get the point. 2 years ago
