Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

On 5/19/2012 my father passed away. He was the kindest, strongest, and greatest man I’ve ever known and was the most amazing father not only to his kids and step kids but to everyone who came into his path. He was only 61. Cancer is a horrible disease and I’ve had to watch it claim the lives of both my parents. As much as I want to curl up into a ball and cry for days on end, I just can’t do that. My dad would hate if I just gave up. He raised a strong daughter and I will make him proud. I will not fall apart. I will thrive and make the most of the time I have here on earth. I will help those who need it. 2 years ago

Dalektableday two 5/15

Didn’t have work today so after my work out with feral I did nothing but lay around watching supernatural and read my trashy paranomal romance book for book club. I also wanted to mess around with some of the effects on this camera. 2 years ago

1.Roller derby. Everything about it. Especially all the incredible people I have met because of it.
2. Knowing I am close to home when I can smell the salty ocean air.
3. Cold PBR
4. Sitting on porches
5. The smell of books
6. Baking and decorating cupcakes
7. Sore muscles (this is a very very recent development and I am proud of myself)
8. Having the kind of friends that you hug whenever you come in to and leave their company.
9. The Phillies and Flyers (most of the time)
10. Driving on a beautiful day with the windows down and listening to Bruce Springsteen as loud as the radio goes whilst screaming along. 2 years ago

Dalektablesuper hero training

Instead of making a new entry every day for this one, I’m just going to compile a list of what I do each day to make me feel proud of myself :)

5/11- 5.5 mile walk with Feral
5/12 – half walk half run 2.5 miles with Feral and Zombie
5/13 – Feral tries to kick my ass with land drills but I beast it out
5/14 – Crunch: Candlelight Yoga (my resting day)
5/15 – Some 10 minute dance workout video then ran the better part of 1.4 miles and walked the rest with Feral.
5/16 – Okay, I slacked off a little today because I worked until 6 then had my cross country book club for a couple hours. But I still managed to squeeze in a 10 minute kick boxing work out video and 30 minutes of exercise bike before bed. 2 years ago

DalektableNumber one 5/14

Starting this project today and kicking it off with a good old fashioned self portrait. This is me. No effects, no make up (except some leftover eyeliner from the day), and slight sunburn. I look a little cross eyed for some reason. 2 years ago
