Bit late for the current plants, but hopefully will stem the tide for the next batch.
All my bulbs are done now. They were lovely.
Moan watch – not too bad I think.
Also, as I have been noting down calories as I eat them (for good or bad) I think I may have lost some weight. Could it be? I have no scales…... 8 hours ago

As this is to fund the self build, which needs a good planning run in, we have time to tidy up a bit and present it well.
As living and bedrooms have never actually been decorated, they should be painted.

Man on telly had a stroke! Which figures. Normal exercise approach to be reappraised…. 1 week ago
We don’t go. Simple as that. It’s making me very, 2 parts huffy, 1 part guilty, 1 part failure. Giving up is the answer. It’s too expensive and the expense has not engendered good behaviour. 1 week ago

I like singing them well enough. And I like improvising tunes over the top of others. Who doesn’t? Writing one. What does it represent? People who write them just do it, all the time, with their scribbled lyrics and dictaphones. I spend no time on this at all.
I played with GarageBand when it first came out. Did three tunes from loops then stopped. I clearly do not have the appetite. 1 week ago

I’m ‘hoarse’ from cheering. Will liaise on dates super soon so I can get booked up.

Hope it’s manifesting good things – I much prefer my smaller but less cluttered sleeping nest, with tree views, from where I am typing this very moment…. 1 week ago
Bad sistaaaaa! Can’t wait to visit…...ooooooh! 1 week ago
Am reading Kevin McCloud’s Grand Designs handbook. I am relieved to note that self build doesn’t actually mean I have to physically build it, although I think the budget might need some thought. But to be honest it’s not about building it with my own hands, I’ve never thought that was possible (for me). It’s about having a place that suits me and spud, hopefully in a setting that I can thrive in a bit.
Definitely not looking to build some oversized techno palace or whatever, just a better sized home with a bit of space around it. 1 week ago

And do enough to get current one sold. Easy really, bit of rubbish chucking, tidy up the shed, that’s about it. 2 weeks ago

This weekend. Very excited. Some big stuff included in this goal, including moving areas, possibly change of job for the beard, as well as the obvious house build challenges.
And we are quite lazy people, so double hard challenge. 2 weeks ago

Although actually I would like to keep the garden going
Gardening – water the pots (so often they wilt)
And
Moan watch – starting with, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.
See how we get on with those. 2 weeks ago

How I did it: Via twitter, found the Living Architecture site, and saw the Dune House. Booked for a year ahead as it is very popular.
I initially planned for me, my boyf and my brother and his wife to come, and then extended the invitation to my dad and his wife later as there was plenty of room. I kept it at that, as bro is not a crowds man.
Arrival was a sublime moment really, pulling back the curtains on a 360 degree view of fields and sea.
I could hardly sleep that night, with a full moon shining on the sea and a Christmassy spirit in my chest.

Have had a week off and have not gone near the place.
I asked for a bit of help from other half, but I just think he really doesn’t want to do it, so I need to take responsibility and sort myself out.
I should cancel one membership, as it is a big waste really. 1 month ago

I’ve done a few chunks since starting, and it’s nice to have them. Will try the Flickr thing again as it really does need sharing. I did some old letters from grandad and my sister. So poignant to see how similar they are, all little sketches and asides.
Letter writing I guess is a bit of a dying art, shame really. I was never a good correspondent. 1 month ago

Another year has passed without effort.
I go to my friend every week and play duets, so am still playing. And I am trying out a few Chopin numbers. But no lessons, no formal practice etc.
I wonder why?
I still feel unable to sit at the piano and ‘do a turn’ and I was starting to do some slightly different stuff with the teacher last time, ie learning how to busk, form the chords, voice them etc. which is certainly getting closer to that wish of being able to just sit at the piano and play, without music. But I stopped.
I will restart. It’s worth the effort. 1 month ago

It’s to all intents and purposes what I needed to do. I sing, in a group, and we do shows. I know it’s probably not quite what I had in mind when I put it down, but actually, it’s fine. I recently worked away for a couple of months and missed practice. It has had a detrimental effect on my life. So am looking forward to the restart next week. 1 month ago

The man is, as my sister called it, obnubilating about this girl. That’s one of the joys of having a dual language person about. Clouded judgement is just not as attractive a way of saying it. 1 month ago

And my brother is definitely coming which is great, boyfriend is particularly pleased about that. I have drafted a list of things to take including wherewithal for cocktails on fri evening, nice breakfast items, and maybe a roast dinner on Sunday to replace the Xmas one missed by brother and his wife.
Also, I will take some specially chosen magazines based on interests of the party (cars, decor, travel, writing, music) and perhaps some pampering girls night in type stuff. Also need a bucket and spade. And some dog chews. 1 month ago

Brighten the front a bit, much needed as its depressing having a crappy front doorstep. Also got a bird feeding station which to date two blue tits have sat on (last Thursday) Hope they come back. 1 month ago

Rather nice. As I’ve not quite finished the first book, I’m not au fait with all the stories, but I recognised Swann and odette I assume her red flower was a cattleya. We’re on a male pas de deux now which the Internet tells me is M de Chalus getting turned down by a young man.
