She wasn’t being negative! But it affects us when people spam the goal with “I want to be a werewolf!” posts. It gets me really mad, and I’m really sorry if I’m rude. But you have to think logically. Shifting is possible, I’m not a non-believer. But you have to listen to the more experienced therians/lycans on here. Just because you have an opinion, doesn’t mean it’s right or will work. We’re trying to spare you the disappointment. Read the post I wrote on the goal. 14 months ago

I’ve been having some thoughts about therians, lycans, and werewolves. I realize that we have people that are new to Therianthropy, so here are my views on what a therian and a lycan are.

Therian- They have a spirit animal, while lycans don’t. Therians are more spiritual than lycans, and have to pretty much program the behaviour of their spirit animal into their minds. They can, however, complete a physical shift just as well as lycans (assuming that Shapeshifting is real). Therians can be ANY animal, from a spider to a wolf to a giraffe. Unfortunately, you can’t shift with every spirit animal. For example, there are many people on this earth, whether they know it or not, that have a housefly spirit animal. That’s right. And in that case, shifting would be impossible. If it was possible, it would hurt twice as hard than shifting into a wolf or lion. For obvious reasons. Anyways, moving onto the subject of ‘becoming’ a therian. You can’t become something you weren’t born as. Not by spells, nor biting, nor even intense meditation. You see, everyone has a therian animal side. A bite or spell, or meditation can help you awaken it. But if your spirit decides not to reveal itself to you, it won’t.

Lycans- What is called a ‘werewolf’ by many, lycanthropy is not as spiritual as Therianthropy. We have no spirit animals or such, and don’t need to mental shift in the same way because our minds are already similar to an animal’s. Lycans can be any animal, although it has been thought that they could be only wolves. Just like in Therianthropy you’d say, a ‘wolf therian’ or ‘cat therian’. The proper term for us would be ‘wolf lycan’ ‘cat lycan’, ‘bear lycan’ ect. Also, lycans shift in two forms. Now, I’m not sure if this is true, but there is a feral form, which is a normal wolf. And anthro form, is like a wolf that stands upright like a human. I want to get this over with, so… Again with ‘changing’. You can’t. For lycanthropy, it’s either you are one or you aren’t. No awakening or such. That also means spells, biting, or any other rituals will NOT turn you into a lycan.

Now you are probably wondering why I didn’t put a description of werewolves. Well, because a werewolf is not a true being. By being a werewolf, you could be either a wolf lycan or a wolf therian. ‘Werewolf’ is just the terminology for it. I, personally, decided to start referring to myself as a wolf lycan, because I want people to know I’m a true lycan and not some Hollywood werewolf freak. And if someone was a cat therian or lycan, they’d probably call themselves a ‘werecat’. It really confuses people who come here and see the word werewolf and post all these questions “Can you help me become a werewolf?” and I’m sick of that. And honestly, I’ve been here for a day. We have to let the new people know that we aren’t a crazy Twilight fanclub. I’m not saying you can’t call yourself a werewolf anymore, but it would be nice to have some real terminology around here.

Talking about spells, and such. Spells can’t make you become something you aren’t.., it just doesn’t make sense to me.
