I am listening to a video on YouTube and Tony Robbins asks what is one thing you want to change about your life? All I have to do is look at my goals to find one:
My self confidence.
Then he asks, “What are the rituals that have shaped your current condition?” There are usually a bunch of small things that you do that keeps you in this place. For me, I think about how people may react to me, instead of focusing on other things. I worry about what they might think. Or I start doubting myself.
What do you want?
To have awesome self confidence!
What are the rituals that will get me there? Stop thinking about what people are going to think. Focus on how I feel and how it feels good to be confident. Focus on how I am a quick study and I enjoy learning new things. Focus on how many times I have succeeded in life and how many challenges I have overcome. I need to focus on success stories, not failures – especially imagined failures.
He also mentions, there are only 2 pains in life:
There is the pain of discipline, and the pain of regret. This helps… 2 days ago

The summer I visited the mountain was only visible a few times. I was fortunate to catch it early one morning and get a nice photo. We camped at Wonder Lake and saw lots of bears on the ride to the lake.
It is definitely a place that people should visit. You are fortunate to be working there! Enjoy your summer!!
I am looking at jobs on indeed.com right now! Awesome resource.
Thank you.
so I need to get my head on correctly and start THINKING like an athlete. I need some visualizations about who I am. For now BRAN is out of the question because of my sick cat who I don’t feel comfortable leaving for a week. I am OK with that because he needs care and the logisitics for BRAN were getting complicated. There will be other rides once I get things sorted out. 3 days ago

What do you need to do to feel like you are making progress on this goal? What makes you feel alive? I am sure that you can come up with a few quick, easy to accomplish steps you can implement so that you will feel like you are living.
Do not give up! This goal is too important!! 3 days ago
You know what you want, and you have some ideas on how to get there. So get out a paper and pencil and start looking at the options, and the pros and cons of each.
First, which path requires the least amount of education? If getting a Master’s degree does not help you reach your goal, then that may not be the best path for you. Education is expensive if it isn’t directly applied to your goal.
Second, can you get credit for any of the courses you took before you had to drop out? That could speed up your education.
Third, if your goal is a stable income, are there other careers that you can have that pay well and use your degree in Health Science? Does your degree have anything to do with your current job?
This may be too late since you posted this in December. I hope it helps. 3 days ago
Sprite HO-WH High Output Shower Filter, White. It lasts a year. It is easy to install. And I can buy new filters for half the price when I need them.
Enjoy! 3 days ago
I purchased mine from Amazon and it certainly cuts down on the amount of chlorine I get exposed to now. It wasn’t very expensive and lasts a long time. 3 days ago
Flavored water is still water. Lemon, lime, tea, etc. will help you get your four glasses a day.
It is interesting how quickly your taste buds can tell the difference between filtered water and tap water. 3 days ago
If you go into it with the right attitude, you will be fine. Since you are taking yoga, this will help you keep focused. Don’t worry about missed miles, what is important is that you are running regularly – which you are. Know how to pace yourself, and push through your doubts, and you will have a successful race.
Have fun! 3 days ago
Glad that your trip was full of adventure and excitement. Glad you were physically intimidating so you didn’t have too many problems. It is an amazing place. My trip to the Taj Mahal was a highlight because I had no idea how much work went into building it. The food was absolutely incredible.
Thanks for the memories.
Especially if you are a teacher, or a fan of reading. I just had to share because I saw this and promptly got a huge smile on my face! Enjoy! 3 days ago

I stopped at the library today to get some books. Unfortunately all the books I wanted are at the Glendale branch, so I ordered them to be delivered to the central library. Then I looked for some other books, and it turns out these books are “missing” from the branches! Drat. Since I was at the library, and it was a nice day, I went for a cup of coffee at “Central Grounds”. I had a cafe au lait and looked at the architecture of the library. It’s a beautiful building!!
When I went to leave, they had locked the outside entrance so I had to walk through the library. I went through a door I hadn’t been through before and it put me in a room where they sold used books. I stopped to look, and walked out with nine books for less than $10! What a great find! I got some excellent travel books, some nonfiction books and a wonderful art/decorating book on the “Santa Fe Style”. Sweet – the library did deliver after all. :) 3 days ago

There are loads of things I am grateful for in my life. My cat is getting healthier. I am getting healthier. Work is going well. I am taking better care of my possessions. My family is doing well. It’s spring and the flowers are blooming. The birds are nesting. The weather is nice.
I had a few tough weeks when things got out of hand and I had a difficult time staying focused on the good things in my life. that is behind me now and life is wonderful. :)
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. 3 days ago

I was listening to a tape this morning and the person suggested:
Face the worst case scenario, then snap into solution mode and figure out what you are going to do about it. Make a plan around this worst case. This neutralizes your fear because you now have a plan.
This makes sense to me. It takes the “power” out of the fear because you have an idea how you can act. I am going to try this for some things that are on my “fear list”. 3 days ago

Thanksgiving is the best meal IMO. How wonderful that your mum made you this during May!! Now I want turkey. :) 3 days ago
Sometimes we also have the blaring music at inappropriate hours of the day. Your entry made me laugh! Thank you for that. :) 5 days ago
I spent 20 minutes sitting outside when I got home from work to enjoy the later afternoon weather. The cats were out with me and the jasmine is blooming so everything smells wonderful. It was nice to just sit outside and listen to the birds chirping.

I predict that I will have a new job at work by July 1, 2013 that pays 20% more than I make now.
I predict that I will have a business that pays me $2000/week by the end of 2013.
I predict that I will purchase a new house (or land) by December 31, 2013.
These are my “musts” and I will make them happen in my life! 5 days ago

More and more studies are showing a connection between bad skin and digestive issues. Do you take probiotics? Also reducing the amount of sugar (in any form) you eat can help. The bacteria feed on the sugar we eat. It’s a suggestion that may help you.
Good luck with your goal. 6 days ago
Since you have the time to write, and have been doing so, continue to use this opportunity to improve your skills. Are you writing for magazines, blogs, newspapers, stories or something else? 6 days ago
That I will know what to do when my cats get sick, and any decision I make will be the right one. One of my older cats has been sick for a few months with a sinus infection. It turns out it is a fungus infection, which is hard to treat because there is poor circulation in the sinuses. I almost had him euthanized, but my sister mentioned that she didn’t think he was too sick, and she helped me get fluids into him (which he fights). She made it clear to me that sometimes we have to do things that our pets (or children) do not like, but is for their own good.
He has been getting fluids every 2-3 days, a pill every 3 days, oxygen treatments (in his cat carrier at home), supplements in his food, lots of encouragement to eat and drink, and energy treatments. It has been 2 days getting better, than a bad day. This weekend, I think we have finally turned the corner towards wellness.
I ordered some homeopathic medicine for him to treat the fungus. It arrived today, and I will start him on it tonight. His fur feels good, smooth and soft – which leads me to believe he is reasonably hydrated. He has been eating a bit more with less prodding on my part. And he has been drinking more water – which is wonderful because he doesn’t like the subQ fluids.
He still falls over when he shakes his head. He is a bit unstable when he walks which I think is from being weak. He went outside this morning (supervised) and spent almost an hour in the front yard. That is a good sign since being outside is good for him. He seems to be more responsive, and feeling a bit better.
I am looking forward to the entry I write where he is well, and playing, and enjoying life again. He is getting there slowly. This poor guy has already used several of his 9 lives. I don’t want him to use anymore. 1 week ago

Wow, what happened to the temps? A few days ago we had a rainstorm with thunder and lightening, and now it is over 100. I like the heat, but I also like a longer transition from rain to hot.
I took advantage of the weather to sit outside and enjoy the warm sun. I just couldn’t stay out too long because it was very hot. 1 week ago

Grab your passport, your backpack (travel light), and a rail pass and get going. You are never too old to do this. Be flexible about where you want to go because you will meet people along the way who will tell you about wonderful places to visit. Travelling is always a great experience and no one is going to care about your age. There are plenty of Europeans travelling the same way.
Have fun! 1 week ago
Thank you for sharing your suggestion so we can start our day with a healthy and tasty breakfast. Yum!
Remove sugar in all forms from your diet. And cut down on processed foods that have preservatives and artificial colors in them. You will notice how much better you feel, and your health will get better quickly. Combine this with the exercising you are doing – even walking is excellent exercise – and your goal will be met in a short time.
Cheers to you for taking care of your health! 1 week ago
I read it when I was in University because I was going through a “Russian phase”, reading books I was not familiar with. What did you think of the story? 2 weeks ago
It is so moving. I saw that image and then wanted to read your post, without knowing anything about what you were going through.
You are very creative – and your writing and art reflect that. Glad you are on the upswing. And things aren’t so bad on the other side of 50. 2 weeks ago
I have been very busy lately and haven’t taken a lot of time to watch the chrysalises much. One disappeared one day – I guess something got it. :( There were still 4 chrysalises on the upper doorframe, out of the way (except for all the spider webs nearby). Yesterday as I came in the door I noticed that the chrysalises had turned dark – which meant the butterfiles were getting ready to hatch.
Imagine my surprise when I looked at them a few minutes ago and there were two butterflies hanging out drying their wings! They hatched! And I think they hatched much faster than last year – though I may have been paying so much attention that the days went by slowly last year. Two weeks from caterpillar to butterfly! I wish I would turn my life around that fast. I think the other two will hatch tonight or tomorrow. The weather is nice so once the dry, they will fly away.
I am just thankful that I got to see them again this year. :)

I read your post, and felt your journey through the job lose and your mother’s passing. Thank you for sharing your challenges, and the thoughts and feelings you have experienced along the way. It helps us to realize that other people have taken similar journeys – the one that shakes you to your core, and forces you to look inside instead of outward.
You know you will come out the other side a stronger, happier, better person. Like you I wish that life wouldn’t necessarily force the circumstances on us to get there.
I think you have reinvented yourself more than you may realize. Being present is a huge “reinvention” especially for a doer like you were.
Be kind to yourself. Keep us informed, and accept my heartfelt appreciation for sharing your story. Things are turning around for you now.
Peace. 2 weeks ago
