RachaelYeah...

...These days it’s more like 40. But I’ll keep this goal for now, and see how I go :) If I complete losing 20 then I’ll change to the losing 40 goal, for the extra 20. 1 month ago

  • Finishing my first week of P90 and starting week 2 (Monday)
  • Seeing Erik’s cousin perform next week
  • Finding out what’s going on with the monster (also next week)
  • Erik’s mum’s wedding (June) 1 month ago

RachaelSpending a lot of my time working on this one

In fact, right now, this is my most worked on goal. It feels as if nothing in my life can progress until I have this monster sedated, at the very least. Preferably out of our lives for good. But I’m giving it a good go, I’m focusing on exercising, not being depressed and using my time well whilst also doing what I can about this monster. We’re progressing in any case, hopefully all will be a lot clearer by the end of this month. 1 month ago

RachaelI still keep to-do lists...

Just not on here :) I have a laminated list which I can wipe clean every day and start again afresh the next. The biggest hurdle for me is getting time away from computers. They suck so much time and potential productivity away for me. Have to get organised on my usage of them. 1 month ago

RachaelDoing P90 again, but this time not alone :)

Erik is taking part too, and it’s quite fun, actually. 1 month ago

RachaelOh for flip's sake!

I did walk yesterday, lots. But guess who forgot their pedometer? sigh Still, Tuesday is the new Monday. 4 months ago

RachaelTime to try this again

Starting Monday. See you back here then! :) 4 months ago

RachaelNot so good

Although this week we bought peppers, carrots and garlic. And we have frozen strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. A few weeks ago I made strawberry and lychee smoothie ice lollies, which were very nice :) 2 years ago

Rachael61% done with the classics list

Feels good. Whether I’ll get it finished this year is unknown, I think it’s rather unlikely, but I can make a good dent in it, I’m sure! 4 months ago

I’m working again, which means all my time and energy is going into that, and not the rest of my life. I guess my boss likes it, but I don’t. Add to that, I am not in the best place emotionally, physically, mentally. It’s all pretty pants. So…yeah. 7 months ago

RachaelRecent things to look forward to

Well, the summer was a complete wash out, the coldest summer in 12 years for Sweden, apparently.

  • Getting a clearer picture of what’s going on with this
  • Halloween
  • Fulfilling my goal of getting to level 27 here before my 27th birthday
  • Becoming 27
  • Christmas

Yup, all pretty regular things. If I think of others, I’ll be sure to add them. 7 months ago

RachaelRachael 0 Monster 1

Things just reached a whole new level of difficulty, but I was right in things being clearer. It’s just that now, there is but one option, and it seems in fact that this Monster will not go away without one, particular manoeuvre which I just can’t even think about right now.

A low point. Monster; you keep the slippers, seems I’m stuck with you a while longer. 10 months ago

RachaelBest update this!

7 months later, things are still not resolved, but soon I will have a much clearer idea of what is going on. It’s rather drastic, but at least there should be answers. And the outcome may mean that my whole lifestyle will have to change. I just want to get on with things :) The monster’s been living with us for far too long. 11 months ago

I haven’t kept this up-to-date well, since I should’ve had going to Download music festival listed. So for now:

  • Summer and nice days out
  • Possibly moving to a house
  • Being one step closer to getting rid of this monster11 months ago

RachaelI went to Download this year

A long weekend spent in wellies in calf-high mud and cold tents. But, the music was great! :) We saw Tenacious D, Biffy Clyro, Black Sabbath and loads of others. Very cool! 11 months ago

RachaelJust finished Level 1 Unit 3

Now I’m on Unit 4 of Level 1 which is the last unit before Level 2. Really should’ve been more diligent with this, oh well :) I have time now. If I did a unit a day I’d be finished in just over a week (assuming the other levels also have 4 units, that is). We’ll see. 12 months ago

RachaelProgress!

Well, I am using Fitocracy nowadays, plus I just finished this workout plan and have moved on to the next level and I’m enjoying it. I’m not working any more so it’s given me time to focus on exercise and my diet :) I also like the fact that the plans are only for 20 days each. I really struggled with P90, it wasn’t the level particularly, it was just willing myself to do it for 3 months.

I also walk every other day, cycle on my indoor bike the day I don’t walk, do a little Wii Fit exercise (I’m trying to improve my jogging) and am starting some dumbbell exercises :) It’s early days yet, but I am feeling good about things. 12 months ago

RachaelRecently...

My weight is all over the place due to combinations of tablets. I am counting calories and consuming under the amount I am ‘allowed’ per day. Plus I am drinking my 8+ glasses of water per day. However I am now 4kg heavier than usual, and I have put this weight on in just under 2 weeks. It is due, I am almost certain, to taking one set of tablets which is insufficient, so my metabolism is messed up, and the others have a side effect of weight gain. I don’t know what to do. 12 months ago

RachaelNo. 16

Erik likes owls. I found a vintage clock online and it looked like just the kind of thing he’d enjoy. When it arrived I got it set up at the right time and put it in the place our regular, boring clock was. When Erik came home from work, he didn’t notice straight away, then later on I heard from the kitchen “What on earth!” :) 12 months ago

RachaelIn English

Now I can speak
A whole new language, it’s true
It is so weird

It’s not really a haiku in English, though :) 12 months ago

RachaelNormal, what does THAT feel like?

The drugs aren’t working
Side effects are a nightmare
When will I be well? 12 months ago

RachaelNo. 15

I bought Erik the Rubber Soul album for Beatles Rock Band. Not a very romantic surprise, I agree, but he liked it. 13 months ago

RachaelFinished Level 1, Unit 2

I got marked down on pronounciation, however I think the system doesn’t hear words all that well, there were some words it was forever telling me I got wrong, no matter how many ways I changed them, even if I put the exact intonation in that the speaker had. For example: “Nice to meet you” (Trevligt att träffas), one of the first phrases I learnt and I know I say it right. Also the word thirsty (törstig) just kept telling me I was wrong, and the word for tie (slips). Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to accept that this is a glitch and I can’t get perfect scores all the time. Still, it makes me a bit mad. 16 months ago

RachaelCompleting only the core lessons

I’ve found the rest far too repetitive, as I’m on Level 1, which is very easy for me. Maybe by the time I’m up to a more difficult unit/level, I’ll need the repetition, but for now I’ll skip it. I’m currently on Level 1, Unit 2. 16 months ago

RachaelAmazon free books...

A lot of the free Kindle books Amazon has available are classics, which means quite often I can find Kindle version of the books I have left on the DS. Or if not there, through one of the other many free e-book websites (along with other great classics). Why would I want to do that when I already have them on my DS game? Well, the DS screen is much smaller than the Kindle’s, it is also backlit which means it hurts your eyes in the dark, and you can’t read in the bright sunshine. Plus, you only have to press a button to change pages, not drag along the screen with a stylus.

At the moment I’m taking a mini break from the DS classics list, though, and reading a few other books instead. I just finished the two last Austen books I had to read, and now I’m reading Moving Pictures by Terry Pratchett. I love the Discworld, but I still have a lot to read. 16 months ago

RachaelFinished Catharine (among other short/incomplete stories)

Only Lady Susan left, which I am currently reading. 16 months ago

RachaelStill working

At the moment I am working up until the 2nd of February, but it may get extended past that. Obviously, I’m not going to be turning down work any time soon, and if my energy levels were as they should be, this would be a lot more fun of a job. It is fun even, it’s just my energy (or lack thereof) that affects it. 16 months ago
