Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Just realised you have to pay for what is on this website. Have ordered some books from the library instead. 22 months ago

Sounds great! I am doing a class which incudes elements of yoga and I really like it. It relieves stiffness and challenges me as well. Great! 22 months ago

What’s body combat like? Is it more cardio? or strength? I have done boxercise and enjoyed it. 22 months ago

Only aiming for twice a week. Keeps me happy. Boxercise and Stretch and Tone. If I keep that up for a while, I’ll think about adding something else. 22 months ago

Starting with going to the theatre. There’s one close to my house. 22 months ago

Sounds good. Let us know how it goes. I am going to try Zen meditation as well, but not until the beginning of April. 22 months ago

I’ve tried a mindfulness course with a cd before, but found it hard to commit to 20 minutes per day. I think I am going to try again with the short, free exercises on this website: 22 months ago

Have also booked a one day course at another Buddhist centre. Want to try a few different approaches. 22 months ago

I have made contact with a local Buddhist temple. I am going to an introductory evening. I think it would be useful for me to meditate with other people and to go somewhere other than home to do it. 22 months ago

I committed to exercising once a week for 6 weeks. I have done 5 weeks so far. I have been swimming most weeks and did step aerobics on the stairs one week. I feel like I can move onto twice a week soon. I think this slow, gradual build up is best for me. 3 years ago

Be patient, let it emerge, listen and be honest. 3 years ago
