Being BrynI completely disagree with Celtic Xian on this one...

There’s nothing wrong with getting pretty underwear, IF you want it! It can make the person wearing it feel sexier. :)

And I don’t think you’re “overreacting” at all. If you’re dating, of course this is something to consider.

I do think in general we are too critical of our own bodies. We are used to thinking about being looked at and judged rather than focusing on the fun things we want to do in bed (or, you know, wherever.)

Yeah, definitely you should have condoms on hand if you think it’s going to happen. Some KY if you think you might need it.

As far as time frame, I think the most important question is what feels good to you? 2 days ago

Being BrynOh no!

That’s awful. I hope you get it figured out! 5 days ago

Being BrynDay 1!

Well, this was a little disappointing, because the sound cut out on me halfway through. I think it is technical difficulties on my end and not the DVD! I couldn’t figure it out, and didn’t have the wherewithall to just silently copy what they were doing. I’ll try to figure out tonight what happened so I’m all set for tomorrow.

But hey, at least I’m starting! And I worked hours in the garden over the weekend, so I’m feeling pretty good about exercise! 5 days ago

Being BrynACCEPTANCE! Puerto del Sol!

Thank goodness. I’ve gotten maybe 25 rejections so far this year! 1 week ago

Being BrynGod, what a hassle.

This reminded me to schedule my mammogram, so thank you…I even have it as a goal and I still keep forgetting! 1 week ago

Being Bryn#14: The Worst Hard Time by Timothy Egan. 5 OUT OF 5 STARS.

Grim and gripping account of what life was like in Boise City, OK and Dalhart, TX in the 30s. Egan focuses on individual stories and interesting personalities as well as capturing the enormous scope of the disaster. It’s amazing what people can survive. At the time of the Dust Bowl, many people refused to believe that people’s actions had anything to do with it, insisting that it was a natural weather cycle. Some things never change. I listened to the Audible version of this book, and the reader, Patrick Lawlor, was outstanding. 1 week ago

Being BrynUh, sort of?

There weren’t many tulips in bloom yet! But it was a cute town with a most aMAZing used bookstore, and we had a great time! 3 weeks ago

Being BrynGhost Towns of Kansas, by Daniel Fitzgerald and Joseph W. Snell. 5 out of 5 stars.

Thorough and fascinating book! I would like to visit a few of these places. 3 weeks ago

Being BrynVery few dreams have expiration dates!

Some do, like being an Olympic figure skater when you’re 40+ and don’t know how to skate…but most do not.

I think any time is a great time to start something new, and if you take up something more exciting and extreme when you are a little older, that just makes you more badass! 3 weeks ago

Being BrynYES! I love those too.

I want to live in a log home someday! 3 weeks ago

Being BrynPlan for May!

I didn’t do a lot in April, besides some good poetry writing and reading. I want May to be more balanced and truly make it a Month of Energy. Here’s the plan!

1. limit internet time to 1 hour a day

Eternity app, all the time.

2. Read 43 books in 2013.

Doing great here! 3 more books for May.

3. stay sober

Doing great here too! Keep it up!

4. fix up the house so it’s ready to sell, even though we’re not selling it

Finish the freaking kitchen cabinets!!
Get 3 estimates on the roof repair.

5. Reach my financial goal in 2013.

Not doing well here at all. NO unnecessary purchases in the month of May.

6. Donate 250 jars of peanut butter and 250 jars of jelly to a food pantry.

Also not doing well here. Donate 35 of each for the month.

7. complete P90X

Work up to starting the program June 1 by exercising 6x a week.

8. Get three new poetry acceptances in 2013.

Submit to the editor who asked for more, plus submit to 6 more lit. mags.
Also: submit to 3 poetry chapbook contests.

9. Get a contract for my Victorian romance.

Submit to 3 more agents.
Write/rewrite 1 pp synopses of book 2 and 3 in case someone wants to see them.

10. Write a poem a day in April, September, and November.

Being BrynUgh, I forgot to go to the dermatologist.

This also happened six months ago and a year ago!

I’m so embarrassed I’m going to go to a new one. I don’t really like this person anyway. 3 weeks ago

Being BrynI haven't been around lately...

because I’ve been doing this. It’s going well, and it’s wearing me out, but that’s OK. 4 weeks ago

Being Bryn#12, #13

Poetic Closure: A Study of How Poems End, by Barbara Herrnstein Smith.5 STARS.

St. Rage’s Vault, by B.K. Fischer (poems). 4 STARS.

I read half of another poetry collection, but didn’t like it enough to finish. 4 weeks ago

Being Bryn#11: The Best American Poetry 2011. 5 OUT OF 5 STARS.

I expected this to be one of the better volumes in the series because Kevin Young edited it. And OK, there were some very boring poems in here and a few trite ones, but there were enough terrific ones for me to give the collection 5 stars. 1 month ago

Being Bryn#10: Lord of Darkness by Elizabeth Hoyt. 3 OUT OF 5 STARS.

Honestly, quite a disappointment after the one before. The plot was recycled, the editing was sloppy, and there were other story issues. She is such a talented writer. Maybe she just cranked this one out too fast. 2 months ago
