Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

- The Robots.

I’ve done mushroom a few times when I was younger and before kiddos and I very much enjoyed my experiences… I never made a tea or anything like that, just ate ‘em on a sub sandwich or something cause the don’t taste very good and they can give you a bit of a tummy ache, fyi…

Tips on shrooming…
-DEFINATELY have a sober friend. You’ll see and/or hear stuff and you won’t be sure if it’s real or not, so its good to have someone to keep you grounded so you can enjoy the experience and not freak out over nothing…
-Go outside, be in nature. In my experiences, when I shroomed indoors, it was never as good of an experience… sit around a campfire, go for a bike ride, etc…
-be prepared for a long trip. Mushrooms last a long time… the first time I did it I tried to go to sleep and I ended up just laying in bed laughing at the strange voices that I was hearing…
-trust who you (or your husband) has gotten them from… Yes, they are natural but they can be laced with other drugs, just like weed can be…

I’ve never done acid – I don’t like that it’s natural and honestly most of the people that I could’ve gotten from I thought were shady characters and I heard that you can have a bad trip based on quality of lsd… so I wouldn’t do it…

Yeah, I think it’s ok for recreational drug use if it’s not abused…

So, yeah, have fun!! 3 years ago

I put this goal down before I had children. One of my most favorite parts of being a parent has been teaching my son to say prayers every night. And by doing this, I have begun to say my own prayers as well… for myself, for my husband, children, family, friends, the world and all those that need an extra prayer… Having children helped my find my faith again and I’m so thankful for that… 3 years ago
