coheeriessparkYou definitely need

to take care of yourself first. I say this as someone who is not doing a good job of maintaining my own life balance and health at the moment. It’s a slippery slope and it’s easy to let a lot of stuff slide.

On another side of the coin, I may have mentioned before that I had a job grading essays once upon a time (8 hours a day for 3 months). I know you likely have found methods that work for you; that said, it may be useful to reach out to fellow teachers (or do some research) on ways to make essay grading an easier chore. See if they’ve developed their own tricks. 1 month ago

coheeriessparkBoth of my cats

are covered under the Banfield Wellness plan. Banfield is part the Petsmart company. I pay about $15 a month for each cat and that includes a comprehensive check-up twice a year, free appointments (either scheduled or emergency), and a discount on all treatment and medication.

The con is that it definitely limits where I can go and if a pet requires services Banfield doesn’t offer, then there are no additional discounts or reimbursements.

Both of my cats have some ongoing health issues that need to be watched (but our relatively minor for now) so it has ended up being a really valuable service, but I know it’s not for everyone. 1 month ago

coheeriessparkResearch & Craftiness...

will make it all possible. There are lots of way to make your wedding wonderful and spend less money. Some tricks of the trade include – having your wedding on a weeknight or Sunday, saying that you’re renting the space for a family event (the word wedding tends to increase the price), doing projects yourself, or having friends (or Etsy vendors) help with things you can’t do. Another important tip is to decide which 1 or 2 elements are most important, so you know where you want to apply the money and where you can be frugal or even skip it. For example, you didn’t mention flowers at all in your vision so if this beautiful lodge is already decorated, skip the flowers and save at least $5k (if not more). 3 months ago

coheeriessparkSo my friends...

said that if I want to be able to use my Google accounts easily, then an Android would be best because while the iPhone can be forced to work with Google, it involves workarounds. And my reaction was that two-fold. First, I use lots of the Google “tools” like e-mail, calendar, and RSS reader so I wanted that stuff to be easily accessible. Second, I have a general issue with Apple and how they’re trying to force people to use their software on their tools.

So in the end, I thought an Android was more convenient and a way for me to use my money to vote against Apple. That said, I get that Google is working hard to make money too but I really appreciate all of their free tools and so I’m willing to deal with them.

I think the inexpensive Android equivalent of the iPhone 4 may be the Galaxy Exhilarate, which AT&T is selling for $1 with a 2 year contract.

All that said, I’m a little sad that 43things only has an iPhone app. 7 months ago

coheeriessparkI also

just bought my first smartphone on Monday so I can completely relate. To make my decision, I talked a lot with my friends to find out what they liked and didn’t like about their phones. That helped me decide to purchase an Android instead of an iPhone. Then, I found out what phones were available from my carrier and tried a few out to see which interfaces were most intuitive for me. Finally, I researched and read reviews about the phones that I had liked. In the end, I purchased an HTC One and so far, I’m happy with it.

My tip regarding the research is to seek out professional reviews, on a site like CNET – then you get a comprehensive perspective about multiple phones (or other products). 7 months ago
