1. We got parts for Harlan’s pickup. It took him all day to get it operational, but at least it worked enough to tow his car home.

1. Even though Harlan’s car broke down, I was home so I was able to go get him and let him use my car.

2. Even though a deer collided with my car, Harlan was unhurt.

3. Nothing else eventful happened. That is a very good thing.

1. Watching some netflix instead of scrubbing the floors. I know the floors won’t go away and I’ll take care of it today.

2. Being awake when Harlan got home. Barely.

I may do that, although generally, I like working where I do. It’s just when little things come up, they take a family member’s word as gospel (even if they have it all wrong) and don’t even ask you about it. Then it stays that way unless you find out about it and can somehow straighten it out. I don’t know that it is even yet. 4 days ago

It’s already over. That all happened last night. It leveled an area of Granbury and killed some people. I think the count is up to six now. They’re still looking for some people. I have a friend who raises horses just outside of there and she told us after the storm that she was okay. That’s about 40 minutes from here. 5 days ago

1. Emailing with Sam, making plans for work in the summer.

2. Rain was nice, but the storms nearby created some killer tornadoes. Luckily, no one I knew was hurt, but there were some incredible pictures.

The daughter in law’s mom started working there now, too. So, I get no hours pretty much on the off season. Everyone that used to work there when I worked for the old owner quit. I’m beginning to see why (I went on to another job so I hadn’t worked for this owner before). The owner, her husband, her son, her daughter in law, her daughter in law’s mom..I’m not sure what’s going to happen next. It’s frustrating because things get said that weren’t actually said and of course no one asks me what the truth is. Course, even if they did, who do they believe? I’m working on my EA and I can do it cheaper through this franchise, but once I’ve got that, I may start looking elsewhere. 1 week ago

1. Being able to straighten out what the boss thinks I said (their son works for them and is a Mr-I-Am-The-Law type) with what I actually said. I got docked $500 thanks to the son putting his own words in my mouth. I won’t get the money back, though.

2. Getting a few extra hours in the off season thanks to an extention wanting to come in when I wasn’t scheduled.

1. Finding out I get an extra day on the paycheck. It’s not much, but every day counts.

2. Sadly, one of the stray cats died under the house. Happily, Harlan got it out of there so it quit stinking things up.

I’m not sure what to do. My 13 year old granddaughter has been cutting herself. We think it’s the influence of her best friend’s “boyfriend’ who is a controlling jerk. He didn’t get his way with her friend and sent her pictures on her phone of where he cut himself and said something to the order of “look what you made me do.” The daugher in law is home in tears. Yesterday she buried her grandmother and talked over the granddaughter’s problem with her sister. The sister took my granddaughter to stay with her for a while, in hopes that being away from whatever has been influencing this behavior will help. I’m there for all of them, but I’m not sure what I can do that would be constructive help. I send the granddaughter a heartfelt email with my cell phone number (I’m not sure what she has with her) and told her she could call me anytime, even if it was just to have someone listen. No judgements, no advice unless she wants it. Was that the right thing to do? I don’t know. 2 weeks ago

How is your cat doing? I had one do that and found out that she had bladder stones. That behavior was an indication of pain and wanting attention, I think. Course, I don’t know for sure. Could it have been just a mood? 2 weeks ago

1. Going to a movie. We saw Iron Man 3..stayed through the credits for some extra fun.

1. Getting the groceries for the week and splurging on a dvd for myself. Butterfly Effect is great..the director’s cut is best.

2. Ignoring writing out the bills. At least for a day.
