I was able to come to terms with the possibility of feeling terrible after coming out of anesthesia. I am now 2 weeks and 3 days out from major surgery and doing well considering all of the complications 3 months ago

I just earned a teaching fellowship that should earn my 50k over the next 5 years if the funding doesn’t go away. I have to work for it but it does give me more $ and I am still teaching math. 9 months ago

I don’t meditate, I just like to be alone, especially in my own house. I like to drift from room to room as the mood strikes me. Organize a drawer here, read a bit there, pet the cat, rearrange the furniture, make a cup of tea, sit on the back step, put in some laundry, crank up some music…I wonder how much time alone it would take before I didn’t like it anymore. Hopefully I won’t find out. 15 months ago

I suspect we are amazing. Do normal jobs require one to know the psyche of all of ones clients, anticipate their needs, know how to guide their intellectual and social growth? Not to mention doing it all at once with all them in one room? Our work goes home with us and is never done. What tremendous intellect, energy, and empathic ability this all takes! It is amazing to me we can also have our own families and private lives. What is not amazing to me is that there is so little time to pursue other talents, do laundry, have friends, or even sleep. 15 months ago

I made it through the class. It was hard for me, I am a small woman, so spring chicken and have already dumped a bike once in my life. Anyway – all I have to do now is take the written at the DMV and I’m done. 15 months ago

I took that exam and the combined test/entries were 2% points off passing so I retook one exam. Passed with 100% (this took a second year) but now I am certified! 16 months ago

I have never gone so far down before but I have also never started back up so soon. It is 1/27/12 and I have been eating well and doing at least 30 minutes a day of ex. for the last 2 weeks. I intend to keep it up. I don’t drink very often anymore, no dairy, no wheat, love my pro-biotic veggies. 16 months ago
