Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

hazelnutnut_againMassachusetts

Used to live there. This time I went to The Berkshire Museum on a field trip with work. I think my favorite place to visit in Massachusetts is Martha’s Vineyard.

Do you find that 5 hours is enough? 3 years ago

hazelnutnut_againThe Affair of the Necklace

I was expecting something along the lines of Dangerous Liasons or The Scarlett Pimpernel, but in spite of the promising plot, this was disappointing. I think there was a lack of chemistry between the actors. And no sense of urgency. 3 years ago

hazelnutnut_again2) party

Next weekend I’m having a pampered chef party to fundraise. 3 years ago

hazelnutnut_again1) beg

To participate I need to raise $2800. I am passionate about fundraising for breast cancer because I have experienced my own breast cancer scar and have several close family members who have had breast cancer. Participating in this event not only helps this cause, but helps me to meet my fitness goals. I have posted a request for funds on Facebook and will also send an email blast out to my friends. At first I was hesitant to post a request to my 43 things friends, but I have donated to other people on here. So, if you are interested in donating, please visit www.the3day.org and search for the participant Susan Vita. I am participating in the Arizona event. 3 years ago

hazelnutnut_againWhat should I read?

I keep reading the same kind of books. Mostly mysteries with a hint of the supernatural. Please recommend a book you’ve read recently that you enjoyed. 3 years ago

hazelnutnut_againMy daughter has been monopolizing the washer.

But now that she is all packed and off to camp, it’s time to play catch-up. 3 years ago

If you ask me if I want whipped cream on something I will probably say no. If you ask me if I want whipped cream and a cherry I will probably say yes. 3 years ago

hazelnutnut_againIt's getting harder.

Monday is still a rest day this week. But Wednesday, which has been a second rest day all along is 15 minutes of cross training. The distances are getting farther. 3 years ago

hazelnutnut_againSunshine Cleaning

This film was a good start to this goal. I was not crazy about the ending, but the premise of a single mom cleaning up crime sites was a good one. 3 years ago
