The nice thing about something like a car payment is that it comes out of your account every month. We’ve paid about 2/3 of the debt just with automatic withdrawals. We’ll be getting a bit of money soon and can add that to the debt and get it done. If we don’t, we’re still about 14 months months from totally repaying the debt (UGH!)

FUN! This was a really neat book. It’s overtly Christian, but that’s ok. It challenges us to live a bigger, more adventurous life. I enjoyed it even though I’m not a Christian. I just sort of read and respected what he had to say about “living in Christ”. Worth a read.

Another fun book in the Harry Potter series. I know I’ve seen all the movies but I barely remember what happened. I’m enjoying reading them in order. The only big sigh is that the Pottermore bookstore and the kobo app don’t work well together so I keep struggling to download the next book.

But that certainly doesn’t take away from the story!

How I did it: We were going to go to England to see a taping of Top Gear but our plane tickets were getting really expensive.

So then we decided to go see our friends in Jamaica. Our tickets were covered by air miles and our mother-in-law offered to take care of our young son.

So we went for 10 days and had a great time -- we toured a lot and sat and played scrabble.

Ahhh.... so wonderful to get some sunshine in the middle of February!

Lessons & tips: Don't be scared to leave your kids at home with someone you trust -- it's a bit hard to leave them but then you get to really relax

It took me 10 days.

It made me happy-laxed!

José is 36 years old and is married with one son. He learned how to be a barber when he was 6 years old and currently works as one. Before, he worked as a day laborer in the country.

The loan that he is asking for from Fundación Campo is to buy a mirror, a barber’s chair, and to make some improvements to his house. With the loan, he will buy an additional mirror and a barber’s chair so his customers are more comfortable and can better see how their haircuts have turned out. This will satisfy his customers and offer them better service. His wish is to expand his business and have his own house.

Wow! Jose is younger than me!I like that he’s improving his business and has dreams of owning his own house! Go Jose!!

Fenik is 62 years old. She lives in Ddmashen village, which is in the Gegharkunik region, with her husband. She has two sons and a daughter. They are all married and live separately from their parents with their own families.

Fenik and her husband are retired and for a long time they have been engaged in farming and agriculture. Fenik’s husband is engaged in bee keeping. On their farm, they have two cows, a heifer, two calves, four sheep, ten chickens and twelve beehives. The products from their agricultural business Fenik and her husband sell in the Sevan food markets. As Fenik said, she is very happy that she can sustain her family with her income from agriculture.

Fenik is taking a loan from Kiva for the first time and she needs 600.000 Armenian drams to buy potato seeds, fodder for her animals and wax paper for bee families. With this loan, she hopes to receive a good profit.

So we’ve had a bit of a work disturbance at work—which is resulting in working 10 hours a day/6 days a week. It’s horrible. BUT I knew it was coming so I didn’t book lessons for me and my son. Which means that I’m not missing lessons.

But I’m still frustrated that we haven’t taken lessons in a year!

A travel agent could tell you ~~- or tourism Indonesia (if it exists!). Often Asian countries have an entrance and exit visit with customs but it’s all very perfunctory -~~ particularly with a 7 hour layover and a ticket to continue through!

How I did it: Last year our time was really off because we took my son and he kept needing to stop and feed and get changed. This year, he was happy to just chill out and look around.

Though I must admit I am surprised that it took so long, I expected to be around the 1hr 45 minute mark.

We didn't really train and were pretty lax about our preparation -- didn't really train at all. It was a lovely day and a lovely walk and I'm happy I met my goal.

So next year, all things being what they are, I hope to do the Sun Run in 1 hour, 45 minutes...

Lessons & tips: Be prepared for anything. Get a good night's sleep the night before.

It took me 1 day.

We got a bike trailer! It’s perfect for our son and my husband is enthusiastic about biking (hurrah!). We’ve gone for two long bike rides this week and it’s been really fun being able to carry some refreshments and the baby.

Now I need a new bike—mine is very heavy and only has three gears. It’s hard!

Once you get over that it’s a really good book. Not the best book in the world, but worth a read. I realize that my list has been full of non-fiction this year. I need to read some more fiction…

I know two years sounds like a long time, but it’s not. Particularly when you are young. If I could go back 15 years I would tell myself to take those two years and do the things I really wanted to do.
