The Book of Lost Tales, Volume I – J. R. R. Tolkein / Christopher Tolkein (ed.)
Definitely started this in like December. Not sure I’m going to read the second volume (or the rest of the History of Middle Earth series). It’s very heady. I would really have appreciated a glossary of names – not the one that was included on the etymology of the names, but who on earth each person was (especially since they frequently have multiple names). Reading it over a very long period of time certainly did not help with the confusion.
Still, interesting. Origin of the gods and whatnot. Think I’d rather read The Silmarillion though rather than head on. 1 week ago

Well, I didn’t do any better this semester than last. I’m not sure if the department is going to petition the grad school to let me stay (I’m feeling not). Hopefully I’ll find out soon either way because it’s totally nerve-wracking having no idea if I’m going to be employed next week or not. 1 week ago

While I’ve loved every country I’ve been to, and while I really find it hard to justify re-visiting a place when I have so many new places left to discover, every couple weeks I think about how desperately I want to go back to Greece. Maybe because it was my first. Maybe because it’s awesome. 1 week ago

This month I made $1,271.71 and spent $990.71.
$96 – non-food groceries (shampoo, etc.)
$256 – groceries
$34 – food out
$34 – alcohol
$390 – rent/utilities
$36 – meds
$9 – entertainment
$34 – gifts
$20 – donations
$8 – school supplies
$5 – misc (needles & thread)
$69 – warrior dash registration
Savings is at $2000.
+ Summer fund at $2100.
Food out + alochol is a bit more than I’d like. Non-food groceries, I got to go to a different store than usual and was stocking up (because the grocery store by my house doesn’t usually have some of the stuff I like). I think I am well stocked up on that stuff for a long while though, and even on groceries for the most part (except fresh stuff) until I move.
There was yet another instance of my roommate fucking up the bills and discovering we hadn’t paid our internet bill in 3 months.
I happened to not have to refill my one prescription this month, so that was nice. I should only have to refill it in May and then hopefully never again.
Wooo Warrior Dash!
Next week I find out my grades, and whether I will still be employed or not. Fingers crossed. If they don’t kick me out, I have a couple of things I’m planning on buying for the summer… new hiking boots… tattoo… bunny… 2 weeks ago

Ugh. Such a bad month. I’ve been going to hockey and all, but I missed so many runs. However, I’m having a burst of motivation this week and have set some goals for the summer, so hopefully it’ll pick up. My goal is I guess about 70 miles a month… 18 a week (5/5/8… Well, actually it’s only 7.7 miles around the loop). I haven’t been going on any long runs at all lately, just 5’s when I do bother to run. Maybe I should sign up for some races. It’s getting nice out (theoretically… it did snow today) so I should be out hitting the trail. 2 weeks ago
