Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

I have never managed to complete on this goal: either I’ve been ‘too busy’ (excuses!!), or I’ve just been travelling somewhere ‘unsafe’ (malaria, yellow fever, blah) so they’ve rejected me.

I’m just about to travel to the Caribbean, so thought I’d sign up now, before I once again get caught again with ‘wait six months after travelling to a tropical area to give blood’

Signed up to do this on Jun 27th. If you want to sign up today, visit 3 years ago

ladelentesmy project

so after thinking I’d never work out what my project is, i finally worked one out, with some support from my coach (mostly on how to get myself out of my way!!!)

will share more about it when i’ve completed the first ‘classroom’ evening tonight 3 years ago

I went to Cuba on a holiday and when I came back home to London I was offered a job with an anti-poverty organisation based in Johannesburg so I moved there from London.

As part of the campaigning work, I visited New York and Brazil for international events there. Later I went to stay in Uruguay (where I’m from) and from there popped over to Buenos Aires for a few days.

Morocco, France, Czech Republi and Belgium were weekend or week holidays with friends (in Europe it’s very easy to just jump to another country!)

Greece and Turkey I’m super excited about because my little sis is coming from Uruguay to travel with me. 3 years ago

ladelentesfirst workday

i feel tired, excited, frustrated, released.

i am on an enquiry, my coach says. and i think, yes, i am. better than not being on an enquiry. and it’s ok to just be with that. i don’t have answers but at least i’m asking questions.

what’s there to give up? what is missing? joy, inspiration, excitement, fulfilment. what’s the pay off? being right, making others wrong, dominating the situation.

people see powerful, engaging, intelligent, attractive, motivating, fun, beautiful, joyful. who am i not to be that?

i give up being right about not being a good person and not deserving to be loved. i give up dominating situations by removing my joy and confounding expectations. i give up making others wrong when they acknowledge my greatness. 3 years ago

I went to South Africa, Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, Argentina, Cuba, USA, Morocco, France, Czech Republic, some places in UK I’d never been to…

This year I’ve been to Belgium and planning trips to Greece, Turkey and the Caribbean. 3 years ago
