Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

~Lady-of-Shalott~Countess Purrs Like a KittenMore art classes planned

This year I would like to try

*resin art
*Folk art

I’ve enrolled in a live class with local artist Keri Adcock on January 18th, looking forward to learning to paint with palette knives.

Also doing another online class with mentor Sheri Ponzi, Ive spent all of 2013 working with Sheri i love her classes.

Plus. I am involved in a project called “The documented life” where we work with planners and decorate them and learn new techniques.

Wonder what else I might find to do… 8 months ago

Laughed till I cried with my middle child and youngest child, we were watching some silly film clip on YouTube and we all ended up rolling around holding our tummies tears streaming down our faces, and I remembered why I made this goal, laughing that hard felt so good!

Fun for me, went to the yearly church book sales, I stayed in my budget of $20:00 and still got 7 books and a magazine, that’ll keep me busy for a week or so. 20 months ago

Sounds like a great idea!! 20 months ago

~Lady-of-Shalott~Countess Purrs Like a KittenYes it's abroad goal but......

2012 was a year of tears and so this year I refuse to cry unless they are tears of mirth!
So how do I plan to do this “fun thing”

More Sisterhood outings, these girls make me laugh till I cry anyways.

Do things I enjoy, so I’ve signed up today for a sewing class starting in Feb

Enbrace my arty side and so i’m also doing a 6 month art course to help me along with that

Go dancing and see bands more often, I really miss dancing

*Spend more time with long time freinds! 21 months ago

~Lady-of-Shalott~Countess Purrs Like a KittenTo finish 2012 with a bang I.......

crossed another thing off my “Bucket list” at 11.45pm last night I had my cousin shave my head!!!

*Shave my head to raise money for the Luekemis Foundation or (Just because I can)

2012 was a bit of a fizzer, too many things went bad, too many tears shed and alot of hurt feelings (Mainly mine) so I got rid of my hair and made a fresh start for 2013!!! 21 months ago

~Lady-of-Shalott~Countess Purrs Like a KittenActually come to think of it....

I’m going to keep this goal going for next year too, it makes me step out of my comfort zone and try new things and besides I’m really eager to try Indian and Polish food. 21 months ago

~Lady-of-Shalott~Countess Purrs Like a KittenOysters... seafood.

I dont like a lot of seafood, but since this year is almost done and i am no where near completing this goal I thought I’d better get adventurous, and so at the Bloke’s work’s Christmas party I ate Oysters kilpatrick….. I don’t honestly think I can say “ate” because apart from eating the bacon and the juicy stuff what is that? some black sauce, I atcually swallowed he oyster whole I did NOT chew it….. does it still count? I had two! LOL21 months ago

~Lady-of-Shalott~Countess Purrs Like a KittenChinese food......

almost all of us have had the usual fried rice and sweet and sour whatever, but I wanted to have more, be more adventurous, but what to order when you dont know what to try??
Problem solved, get invited to a Chinese wedding… they had a squillion different dishes and even though some of them made me go “ummm errr…NO!” I was determined to at least try everything, the ONLY thing I flatly refused was the Abelone.. I ate tofu with washabi dipping sauce, and I ate coral trout, prawns, DUCK another first for me, and each series of dishes that came out I tried a little of something and proudly I can tell you I ate it all with chopsticks….. see! you can teach an OLD dog new tricks!! 21 months ago

~Lady-of-Shalott~Countess Purrs Like a KittenI meet my husband

in a chat room and now we’ve been married 8 yrs, I think in most cases you can share alot more of yourself through a computer screen, but then there are also those who use it the wrong way, we started by chatting online, then over the phone and then discovered he worked about 10 minutes from my house, so coffee at mine and it went from there. 22 months ago
