You are right about that, but I’m pretty sure that those people won’t change their actions much, if at all, if they were convinced. They would have little to no incentive to even care any more than they already did. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against convincing people, but I just don’t see why believing in other sentient beings would make them want to be more environmentally friendly.
That said, note that you just said that you are judging all of humanity by a relatively small group.

Chances are that most of the people here have only wanted to do this recently, not their entire lives…maybe some have wanted to grow wings for that long, but I doubt that all of them have.
