These are great responses, thank you. Yes, Dawn, you hit the nail on the head in your second posting…my frustration with the cruelty of the system we’ve been given gave rise to questions about why…
I believe that there is an answer to the question…I don’t know what it is…I believe there is something fundamental to be understood from this system that on it’s surface is pure violence and a requirement for us to live. All of us, even the vegetarians among us if you consider the definition of a living creature.
Perhaps…some message about how we all tie in together and that all life is actually the same and there is no difference in life forms on some level? A message relating to the divine choreography of life, the grand design, and how we all belong, all participants on the food chain belong? I’m not exactly sure, it’s a question, that when I ask myself, these are the paths to which my own mind takes me..
Or a message about the flow, which Jimrin identified…we are part of an everlasting flow and energy exchange, part of it, not outside it?
Whatever it is, the food chain delivers a harsh message, yes…but nonetheless one that can be easily observed and somehow interpreted by all participants.
So today so far, I participated in the food chain by eating dried seaweed from the ocean, salame, from a cow, bread from the variety of component sources that it is comprised of, as well as sipping on chamomile tea. These are extremely varied foodsources, when a little thought is given to where they come from. According to Dawn-T, I also gave in some ways that I may not even be aware of (have a good breakfast, dust mites). It’s a jigsaw puzzle when you think of all the pieces and players, and it’s a real puzzle in other aspects as well. Thanks for your thoughts, DawnT and Jimrin! ;0) Meliflower 2 years ago
