I remember them vividly in Estonia – right there in the Old Town square with all the cobblestones. It looked a bit dangerous, but fun! 2 days ago

I have a few more to add to the list. I went north to visit the fam, so technically these are different but then again I have been able to see birds that are more commonly found in wide open spaces and around the north.
AAH! darn it , I just totaled up my count – only at 47! 2 days ago
To get placed with your spouse (because they really only guarantee you the same postings if you’re married), I would recommend you apply at the end of your 3rd year. Def chck in with a recruiter before that if you can, just to check in.
Good luck, I wish you well. 5 days ago
33. Went to the top of the Eiffel Tower in the Paris. Definitely worth the view, which brings me to 34…
34. Watched the Bellagio water show from the top of the Paris
35. Checked out the Butterfly Atrium in the Bellagio. So fantastic!
36. Andy Warhol exhibit – absolutely fantastic – the guy was a weirdo, but he is an interesting person to make you think about art, business and character. 6 days ago
Just one week, two classes, some grading and 3 papers to submit.
I struggled a bit in my statistics course (I know surprise right), however I did get my crap together somewhat toward the end of this semester. I also have been invited back as a grad assistant and will be filling out my contract this week. Teaching has been interesting and I have learned a lot from my courses.
So the plan is to be here at least one more year, then move on to get back into the labor market. We’ll see! 1 week ago
To Hope
WHEN by my solitary hearth I sit,
And hateful thoughts enwrap my soul in gloom;
When no fair dreams before my “mind’s eye” flit,
And the bare heath of life presents no bloom;
Sweet Hope, ethereal balm upon me shed,
And wave thy silver pinions o’er my head!
Whene’er I wander, at the fall of night,
Where woven boughs shut out the moon’s bright ray,
Should sad Despondency my musings fright,
And frown, to drive fair Cheerfulness away,
Peep with the moonbeams through the leafy roof,
And keep that fiend Despondence far aloof!
Should Disappointment, parent of Despair,
Strive for her son to seize my careless heart;
When, like a cloud, he sits upon the air,
Preparing on his spell-bound prey to dart:
Chase him away, sweet Hope, with visage bright,
And fright him as the morning frightens night!
Whene’er the fate of those I hold most dear
Tells to my fearful breast a tale of sorrow,
O bright-eyed Hope, my morbidfancy cheer;
Let me awhile thy sweetest comforts borrow:
Thy heaven-born radiance around me shed,
And wave thy silver pinions o’er my head!
Should e’er unhappy love my bosom pain,
From cruel parents, or relentless fair;
O let me think it is not quite in vain
To sigh out sonnets to the midnight air!
Sweet Hope, ethereal balm upon me shed,
And wave thy silver pinions o’er my head!
In the long vista of the years to roll,
Let me not see our country’s honour fade:
O let me see our land retain her soul,
Her pride, her freedom; and not freedom’s shade.
From thy bright eyes unusual brightness shed—-
Beneath thy pinions canopy my head!
Let me not see the patriot’s high bequest,
Great Liberty! how great in plain attire!
With the base purple of a court oppress’d,
Bowing her head, and ready to expire:
But let me see thee stoop from heaven on wings
That fill the skies with silver glitterings!
And as, in sparkling majesty, a star
Gilds the bright summit of some gloomy cloud;
Brightening the half veil’d face of heaven afar:
So, when dark thoughts my boding spirit shroud,
Sweet Hope, celestial influence round me shed,
Waving thy silver pinions o’er my head! 1 week ago
28. Henderson Birding Preserve is so fantastic, so happy to have found that treasure
29. Defending the Caveman – meh.
30. Gold Coast bowling, possibly the most fun possible!
31. The Springs Preserve really has fantastic events, in addition just walking through the exhibits and walkways on a regular day si great as well.
32. Massive Imax theater at the Palms. Whoop de doo – the movie was terrible (lookin at you Oz) and a $17 cover charge really soured me on ever going there again. 1 week ago
And dinner with a friend, what a great night. I really do enjoy cooking for and enjoying food with friends. I baked these up with a sauce made of honey (finally used up my Latvian batch!), soy sauce (just a little, watching out for the old thyroid), garlic and ketchup. Fantastic. I made a simple plate with wings only baked with some salt and pepper and they were great as well. Damn, I’m hungry again! 2 weeks ago
Mr. Toad may just be my favorite character from childhood. Very good to finally read this book. It was much longer than I’d anticipated with some strange rambles off track, but it’s a keeper! 2 weeks ago
just by looking at your profile pic you can pull off a look like the one I have attached, you can also find it here: http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com/tips-and-tricks/short-hairstyles-single-front-twist/
This is more of a twist than a braid, so you would just use two strands of hair. Twisting down the length that you want, you would pull in additional hair with each twist if that makes sense. 4 weeks ago
mirrors make it confusing as you are looking crosswise. I french braid my hair completely by feel and that is the only way I teach anyone else to braid.
Not sure if that helps, try it both ways and see what works for you. 4 weeks ago
One to the dentist who put my three crown bridge on. He did a fantastic job and I wanted him to know how much I appreciated his work well done.
I also finally sent a letter to the St. George Winter Bird Festival committee. I had such an amazing, fun time and they really put on a good event. I hope to be back. 4 weeks ago
And I’m poised for more! Very fun, can’t wait to keep going. 4 weeks ago
I’ve done them all except visit 6 & 8. I was surprised that my hometown (in the northeast) wasn’t listed. Maybe I’m partial though. Thanks for the link! 4 weeks ago
Because I remember just how excited the Mormon kids would get when talking about fooling the younger kids during their summer camp.
It may just be my favorite, I’m not sure just yet! 1 month ago
I went over to the Henderson Birding Preserve yesterday and I saw a silly little Snipe. Just the cutest little thing. This has been a lot of fun. I need to get back out in the desert and look some more. Good times! 1 month ago
Aaaaaaaargh! I have a massive pile of knotted up, annoying, pissing me off yarn! Just when I was hitting my stride! 1 month ago

It was the six tunnels walk up by Lake Mead. For the 5 k we did three of them and then turned around and headed back the way we had come. It was a beautiful day. 1 month ago
Be not content, contentment means inaction,
The growing soul aches on its upward quest;
Satiety is twin to satisfaction—
All great achievements spring from life’s unrest.
The tiny roots, deep in the dark mould hiding,
Would never bless the earth with leaf and flower
Were not an inborn restlessness abiding
In seed and germ, to stir them with its power.
Were man contented with his lot forever,
He had not sought strange seas with sails unfurled,
And the vast wonder of our shores had never
Dawned on the gaze of an admiring world.
Prize what is yours, but be not quite contented,
There is a healthful restlessness of soul
By which a mighty purpose is augmented
In urging men to reach a higher goal.
So when the restless impulse rises, driving
Your calm content before it, do not grieve;
It is the upward reaching of the spirit
Of the God in you to achieve, achieve.

Now if this does happen, I just need to find a partner! 1 month ago
