Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Oh, I wanted to addwhat the hellthat whenever a dark time in your life comes your wayas we humans often experienceyou can now hold this accomplishment up against those troubles, understanding that to change things we often need lots of timeas you yourself now know (7 years worth :) but in the end, when we stick to things, we can and do self-change.
_that’s all

It’s an amazing achievement, way to go.

relicgodTakes some time, but real focus

Over a period of a few weeks, I got out my journal and was able to really get at myself, what I have done in the past 5 years and where I want to be in the next five. I realize I’m at a point where I can explore possible routes and I’m not committed to any one of these yet, but I’m taking steps to chose. 2 years ago

relicgodTook my coloring pencils on a trip...

to the cafe with me the other day, sat on the cafe’s patio the sun beaming down on me and the colors coming out on the page, amazing. Total focus and flow for about 2 hrs, felt rested and refreshed. Try it. just a five minutes to start, that’s what I did. 2 years ago

relicgodI went to wine tasting today.

Talked to a very nice doctor. Need to keep this up. Does not matter if people are young/old/same age just talk and then wish them well. Hard to do sometimes but can be fun. 3 years ago

relicgodIt took a month.

I was a heavy morning drinker of coffee since, maybe, high school. Now that my reunion has come and gone I felt the effects more and more. I know that it was the right thing to do because I experienced very mild withdrawal symptoms; my body helped me stop. I’m sure I’ll drink coffee again-tiramisu is so good with coffee-but not everyday. 3 years ago

relicgodStarted today, been trying to do 2x this year.

I drank 4 oz today just to keep away the headaches. Haha, it was just enough to give my neurons a morning fix but my body was not buying it. I felt tired and sleepy. I’ll do the same tomorrow. 3 years ago
