Last night, at a banquet, I found out that my patent lawyer friend is a mountain biking expert and is part of a mountain biking organization. So, being that I have logged very little time on a normal bike on flat ground, I jumped at the chance to suddenly upgrade to mountain biking tomorrow morning. O__O She said she has an extra mountain bike that is the right size for me, so she will bring that as well as a water pack for me. How very nice! I will be bringing the rest of the armor and first aid, thank you.
I will be mountain biking in 13 hours. Bring on the bruises. ::gameface:: 6 months ago

to go to Puerto Rico soon and want to kayak in their bioluminescent bay. Wow, you swam in it! I didn’t know they allow that. How was it? Do you have any tips? 6 months ago
I made a terrarium. :D This glass jar’s diameter spans across the width of the Altoids tin container below it. Now, all I need is a miniature velociraptor figurine to lurk behind the foliage with a tiny safari hat. 6 months ago

Oh, yes, a serious kite quest indeed. If I didn’t have Google maps, I would have had a map covered with pushpins. I’m so happy that I could provide a snippet to make you feel like you were there!
Thanks! The wind today was actually 7 MPH, whereas 15 MPH is ideal for kite-flying. So, I had to run a little to get it going. That didn’t matter to me as long as the kite flew! Pretty soon though, I was standing still in the shade of a palm tree and letting it fly as high as the wind would take it. While waiting for stronger winds, I would float it around lazily at eye level and then, when the gust came, swoosh I let the string fly past my fingers. With this game of suddenly flying high and then floating down like a feather, I literally flew a kite for 2 hours straight. I was in high spirits.
If I had to run a full scale operation to find a $1 kite, I’m sure you could find one faster! I’m positive you would love flying a kite. :) Please try! In the words of Mr. Banks, “oh Oh OH! Let’s go fly a kite! Up to highest height! Let’s go fly a kite and send it soaring!”

How I did it: Three weeks ago, I called 9 different dollar stores asking if they sold kites. I even switched to a foreign language at times in my quest. One store finally had them and off I went with my Indiana Jones-esque sling leather bag. I bought a diamond kite for $1.00. That's one dollar for pure joy.
Today is Halloween :D. I asked for the day off and went to a quiet beach with a friend. A beautiful 75 degrees and clear sky. Hugged by the warm glow of the sun and refreshed by the cool shade of the palm trees. And delicious homemade Korean food!
As soon as my kite caught the wind and soared, I felt so free. I thought, "Ah, this is definitely joy." Suddenly, the song, Moon River (from Breakfast at Tiffany's), melodiously flooded my mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcXiJibBloU
I thought Snoopy was so cool to fly a kite from atop his dog house in A Boy Named Charlie Brown. I also wished I could meet Mary Poppins. All I could see was the horizon and my kite above it. I was happy. ^_^ Read how I did it… 6 months ago

5th grade, during a raffle. That number I chose won me the prize. Funny, thing is I don’t even remember the prize, just the number that won it. =P Now, that I look at the 13 on the calendar, it looks like half of a butterfly! 7 months ago
This makes me happy. Happy Anniversary to you both! 13 is also my lucky number haha. Cheers! 7 months ago
I had never been intent on learning to play golf but my friend has two pairs of golf bags with golf clubs and balls. So, she is going to take me this afternoon. Who knew? :)
11:30pm Edit: There were ominous clouds and lightning, so my friend taught me some basics of the swing motion indoors, which was still fun. We’ll go to a driving range soon. 7 months ago

Hahaha… I added this goal this year but realized today that I had already done it 6 years ago! I found my photo of our finished puzzle in an old journal. Funny, I always thought that Disney Photomosaic puzzle was a 500 piece puzzle, but it was actually 1000!
That was the most entertaining puzzle EVER since Mickey’s main picture was comprised of screenshots from various Disney movies. An absolute pleasure working on it with my sister and spewing Disney quotes. Dozens of Disney songs must’ve popped into my head while putting that together. 7 months ago

A worthy endeavor! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsABTmT1_M0 8 months ago
Oh, thank you for that list! I still haven’t watched:
Ocean Waves
Pom Poko
From Up On Poppy Hill
The Secret World of Arrietty
Spirited Away is still my favorite Ghibli film. My sister’s favorite is Howl’s Moving Castle. All of their movies have a magical and pleasant quality. Their latest movie, The Secret World of Arrietty, was not directed by Hayao Miyazaki but he was in charge of screenplay. 8 months ago
I think you need to just do it without thinking. I called my skydiving place one afternoon and booked my jump for the very next morning. Since I was paying money and doing it once, I wanted to do the most possible and I chose the highest jump 13,500 ft tandem (almost free fall at 120mph for 15 seconds and then parachuting down). What’s great about tandem is you don’t have to do a thing except enjoy the ride and keep your hands a certain way.
It’s better to skydive only if you are emotionally ready and want to feel it. In my case, the thought of doing it felt as common as going to the grocery store. Only after I glided to the ground did I realize what I had just done, and it felt GOOD. =]
I also glided through a cloud and took a bite of it :). The photo is of a Peregrine falcon in a dive. They can dive at speeds of 200mph and their nostrils are built specifically for it otherwise they would rupture. ! 8 months ago
