Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Ana-Maria NaszyńskaIndeed!

Hehehe! It’s true, twice as much love around the house, but they also tend to be twice as naughty! :D
My mother thinks that single cats are more sociable with humans, but if they don’t even get to breed eventually, I think their life alone is a little sad, thus a cat companion is a great idea. :)

Ana-Maria NaszyńskaA quote I just read...

It made me think of your goal, I thought I’d share. <3 2 years ago

Ana-Maria NaszyńskaSushi

Yesterday I got a “Sushi” cookbook for my birthday from a friend I once tortured with a dinner at a sushi restaurant because I was craving them so much. I was even more funny that we were celebrating my birthday at a Japanese restaurant. ^^ I think I’m going through an obsession right now and the present is most fitting!
And my friends demanded that next time it should be sushis at my place – challenge accepted! :D 2 years ago

Ana-Maria NaszyńskaMeh

As much as I love Amsterdam and being there, surrounded by cute houses and beautiful canals, it’s not so fun when you don’t have company to spend time with. Yesterday I managed to have a wonderful birthday here in Toulouse – a place I rather loathe – but I had my friends around and it was fun. I’m not saying that I discovered that good company makes anything better, I only discovered that some people around me are ready to be there for me and they appreciate me more than I allowed myself to believe. 2 years ago

Ana-Maria NaszyńskaSee a nutritionist

Today I went to see a nutritionist. I didn’t really want to go because I had a bad experience with a judgmental nutritionist before, but my landlord, who is very motherly and caring with me, recommended one that she heard very positive things about. So she actually made my appointment and I had to go today.

She was indeed very nice and listened to all I had to say. Truth to be told, I almost felt like I was doing therapy because it was a little difficult to say out loud all my terrible eating habits, to talk about my past and the things that bother me in my current daily routine.

After some further examination she gave me prescription with a sample-menu I could follow without a lot of effort. She recommended me doing any kind of exercise for 1 hour every day and suggested I could at least get off the metro a couple of stations before my home and just walk home. Simple as that! I’m also supposed to follow a food-diary to keep track of everything I eat.
Since I often eat because of the anxiety and stress from school, she also gave me the contact of a psychologist, in case I want some support on that side as well. I’m not sure yet if I have the money and the time to go to one at the moment, but maybe I will!

I’m seeing her again in a month. Hopefully with some progress on my part! :) I’m being positive and I like it! :D 2 years ago

Ana-Maria NaszyńskaBecause

Of the people, the mills, the magical city of Amsterdam.. I’m just fond of the city, it’s the city I visited the most and I always want to go back. Not sure how to justify it, I just love the architecture, the canals, how people are open and friendly, it’s a fun place to be. :) 2 years ago

I guess you’re right! It’s more bout my personal striving to do better rather than what other people think. I just thought I’d make myself more proud. :D

Ana-Maria NaszyńskaWaiting for the results

I’m aspiring to do a Master Degree in English abroad. So at the beginning of last December I took the Cambridge ESOL examination for a Certificate of Proficiency in English . I’m quite excited as the results should be out in a week! I hope I did well. :) 2 years ago

Ana-Maria Naszyńska<3

I love cats! I had cats when I was a kid, but never for too long. Unfortunately two of our cats died, two of them got stolen and as for the last cat I got when I was 16, I had to leave him with my godmother, who was living with us before I had to move to France.

I really envy all of those who’ve had a pet for most of their life, I’d love to have a little pal beside me as well. The flats we’ve been living in here were too tiny to host a cat. And as for now, I’m moving places for my studies and I like to travel, so I’m unable to take care of a little being.

But once I settle, I’d really love to have a cat. And I want to give him all the cuddles he wants! <3 2 years ago

And don’t forget the magic Finland with its beautiful still lakes and Santa Claus’ home. :D 2 years ago

Ana-Maria NaszyńskaUnderrated

I have to say that I enjoy traveling! Being born and living in Europe has certainly helped me travel through Europe, but, from experience, I’d say you’d miss a lot if you don’t consider Northern Europe; Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland – they’re the best places I have ever been to! :) 2 years ago

Ana-Maria NaszyńskaA 2012 resolution

Exercising is one of my 2012 resolutions. It doesn’t mean that I’d have to go to gym on a regular basis, I don’t have the time and money for that, but every morning, after I open my eyes and while still in bed, I’m doing some exercising for my abs to get rid of the belly. Not only it takes only a few minutes and helps me wake up, but it makes a good start of the day; it makes me happy I’ve already done something for myself for the day. 2 years ago
