Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

sunny238It's Official!

Alright, it’s official! While we’ve technically been homeschooling the girls for the past couple of years, this is the first year we’ve had to register with the state. Instead of sending my oldest to public school next August, we have an official exemption letter from the State! We are officially homeschooling! (though I didn’t really need the state to tell me that.) 6 months ago

sunny238I have my Master's Degree!

Wow, it’s been awhile since I’ve been on 43Things. I mean, a long time. A few years. Since then I completed my Master’s Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Now my next steps, get my life coaching certification and start up a business and get my PhD in Psychology. I’m thinking Social Psychology with and emphasis in Positive Psychology. 6 months ago

sunny2382 ideas

So I have 2 ideas for a novel, but neither of them have a plot, just a basic concept. I’m horrible about coming up with a plot line, so I think I’m going to take the basic approach of just writing. I’m going to start coming up with characters and designing situations to put them in, then build their personality and back story. I can play with them, change them around or get rid of them completely based on what works for me. Hope I can actually find the motivation to do it! 2 years ago

sunny238Getting closer...

Ok, so we don’t have a Dane yet, but we did get a German Shepard mix. She’s a sweetie, but I can tell she wants some friends to play with! Gotta get that house in the country, then we’ll be getting our Great Danes! Step by step we’ll get there! 2 years ago

sunny238Hope I don't need to make this a goal again!

This was the second time I’ve had this goal on my list, and the second time complete! For those who don’t know, my husband is in the military, so when he is deployed for war it goes up on my list. He’s been back for a couple of months now, so a lot of hugs have gone around…and we still hug daily. Appreciate the people in your lives everyone, friends, family…everyone. You never know when the last time you’ll see them will be :) 2 years ago

sunny238Finally Took the Class!

I don’t get on here to update like I used to, but I’m still working on my goals! I took a cake decorating class and I’m not half bad…though I’m not the greatest in the world either, lol. My kids love that I play around with some decorating techniques. Now that my class is done, I’ll be taking a break from cakes for awhile unless someone hires me to do a cake for them (with the understanding I’m still an amateur). I had a lot of fun learning, and now I have more than enough buttercream frosting to store in my freezer, lol. Next cakes will probably appear in May for birthdays and graduations. Wish me luck! 2 years ago

NaNoWriMo is next month. It will be a busy month, but fingers crossed I’ll be able to complete it this year!! 3 years ago

sunny238Getting closer!

Technically my desktop is fixed, however I want it to have Internet access before I consider this one complete. Thanks to my friend Justin for fixing it for me :) 3 years ago

This year I canned tomatoes and salsa verde from the garden. Later this month I’ll be hitting up the orchards and canning some apples and peaches. Love having all of this on hand! 3 years ago

sunny2387 months left!

I’m getting closer on this one! I’ve been taking classes since January and I will earn my masters in June 2012. So far I have a 4.0, and I plan to keep it that way. As of right now I’m considering going on for my PhD, but we’ll see where we are at when I graduate with this degree. 3 years ago

sunny238Pure Romance!

So I finally took the step to work at home. It wasn’t quite what I had in mind, but sometimes you have to look past your own ideal and see what life has to offer. At the end of July I signed up as a Pure Romance consultant. I sold Mary Kay years ago, and was please at how much better Pure Romance is to do. I’ve actually made quite a bit of money, however I’m pretty much putting it all back into the business to get business supplies. I’m happy with this and I hope I can make this a full time job so I don’t have to apply for jobs when my husband gets home. 3 years ago
