TartsyI wrote the Robots.

It’s been ages since I’ve had occasion to contact the Robots here at 43T but I figured I should throw out a ‘head’s up’ about the server issues. Man, it’s super annoying to get the error message while trying to post and catch up with cheers.

TartsyThat goal was completed seven years ago!

Holy crap! Considering it was a cast off goal that’s funny as hell. It was Marmorty who suggested it as a joke and I ran with it. The rest as they say is history...

It’s kind of a bummer looking back only to see all the (This comment was deleted) crap but that’s the price you pay for being here for a bit. Friends come :) and go. :(

Last time I logged into Linkedin they suggested I add Marmot to my network (his real self) and that was strange but then I realized he’s in my email contact list. It’s been so long I forgot and to send him an email now would be ridiculous.

“Hi, Remember me, I’m that Asshat from 43T. Yup, still going strong. Listen, I just wanted to say thanks for saying no one would ever complete that crazy goal because it was one of the funniest experiences of my life! Peace ~ Tartsy Asshat4 days ago

TartsyHoly crapdoodles! Check this out.

I decided to log on and review NW a bit and what do my wondering eyes do see?

I’m NW in famous!! What’s up?

After thought: From the chopping block to one of the active monitors. Life’s funny. 4 days ago

TartsyVery good!

As you may already know, I too can be shamelessly outspoken about a number of things. Shocking news I’m sure. ;) I raise funds for the Lupus Foundation on a 3 mile walk each year and I’m extra shameless about raising supporters. Walking all those stairs seems a bit much for me (I would poop out after 20 floors I’m guessing) but that view was fabulous!! 4 days ago

TartsySo...

I missed this but did you raise a fair amount of money for the cause and what goofy thing did you do if any? Is there picture proof? :) 4 days ago

TartsyTime

1. How much time do you think you spend on 43 Things on a typical day?

I’m not a daily user. If I happen to turn on the PC here at home I’ll pop in, spread a few cheers or stir up some shit. Sometimes I get in a mood where I’ll pop out a few entries, comments, or spend time on NW but that’s usually on the weekends. It can also sit open in a window while I ignore it too…

2. Is this more or less time than you feel you should be ideally spending on 43 Things?

Personally, I think I’ve got it mastered. It’s whenever I have a little time to kill and I really do enjoy this site. It’s cheap therapy & I’ve made good friends! =)5 days ago

TartsyGeneral update

I haven’t said anything about Lupus in awhile so here’s a mini update:

  • Spent a few hours volunteering at the local chapter of the Lupus Foundation on Tuesday. Found out the article won’t be out until September – BUMMER!! :( Folded some paper, sorted oodles of purple rubber bracelets, stuffed a few folders… Good times!
  • Sun is the enemy = SPF 50+ please!! My skin can be so sensitive. It sucks that I don’t have a large chapeau collection because my poor scalp gets terribly itchy in the summer months. Head & Shoulders here I come…
  • Went to see the hematologist on Wednesday and my platelets are at 59,000. Good enough for me and the next blood appointment is in six months. Monitoring bruising & any other symptoms along the way without steroids. Here’s to good enough, LOL!!
  • In general, I’ve had some aches ~ left shoulder is always but the hips, ankles, and knees take turns so that could be worse. I’m sure if I were to be more consistent about exercise that could be decreased.
  • Rheumatologist appointment isn’t until December unless something goes haywire which leaves me doctor free for six months if I can keep my shit together. 5 days ago

TartsyHmmm...

Today I did something new (to me) by registering at Kickstarter so I could help my cousin make a CD. He has his PhD in music (tuba something or other but he’s basically a tuba ‘doctor’ which is just, wow ~ I digress) & when I saw his request on FB I thought, ‘why not’? I kicked $20 and I’ll get a kick ass tuba CD in return. Now if I can sit through it is another matter but that’s to be determined in July. 5 days ago

TartsyOff the beaten path...

I recently picked up the album Love Has Come For You by Steve Martin & Edie Brickell which is bluegrass. It’s a great illustration of his kick ass banjo skills and her smokey awesome voice! I highly recommend it & that’s high praise since I’m not usually a fan (because it’s too darn close to straight country which annoys the hell out of me). 5 days ago

TartsyLoved this book!

I finished & you can too! :) 1 week ago

TartsyI wish I could but alas...

Not only would hubby be none to pleased but if we were to touch her at all our scent would repel the mother. In the event mom does return for her baby I don’t want to her to flee because of human stank.

We are in a city in the US and there’s a big local park system near here hence a HUGE deer population in our suburban neighborhood. Most of the time it’s lovely but right now I am falling to pieces.

I’m headed out to see if she’s still hanging around.

PS – I just checked and it’s gone. I’m hoping it’s mom finally showed up but I’ll be watching out for awhile…1 week ago

TartsyI am so sad

I’ve exhausted my options. The local APL was a no go, Wren, we’re in a different county but their counterpart can‘t help either, and I struck out with the nature center too… Basically wild animals are on their own I guess. It got up and hobbled to the neighbors flower bed and we got a better look – the back right leg appears to be broken at the knee because it’s dangling… 1 week ago

TartsyDeer Troubles

I planned to weed when I got home today unfortunately, a fawn has bedded down in my rose bed right by the garage and appears to have a broken leg . We’ve seen it up and about with it’s mom recently so it’s not ‘too new’ to walk, the back right leg is bent at a funny angle and it’s surrounded by flies. Not good! I tried to shoo it toward the back yard at which point it stood, couldn’t put weight on the leg and plopped back down again. When I called animal control they said they’d only come if it was dead and that given time the Mother will either come to get her or it will expire at which point I should call back. Hating the idea of this fawn dying but not too sure what I could possibly do to help. If I give it water the city could cite me for feeding a wild animal. I’ll check back in an hour or two but in the mean time what do I do…? 1 week ago

TartsyAgreed

TartsyPamper myself...

Out of the blue I decided that I must have a manicure & pedicure! It had been a little over 2 years since my last indulgence so ‘why the hell not’ and off I went to the nail salon. It’s not often I pamper myself but it’s time to start some ‘I think I can’ mindset in regards to these matters! Seems like a reasonable endeavor I will try to work toward.

PS – Those are 100% my real nails ~ YAY!!!1 week ago

TartsyPope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross

Funny story, while I was buying our movie tickets yesterday the ticket lady had a book (Pope Joan) sitting there and because first & foremost I am a bibliophile I asked her what she thought of the book thus far…

She looked up very slowly to see if I had actually asked her a question (I suppose she’s mostly ‘invisible’ in her role) then she lit up like a Christmas tree! She praised the story and even pointed out there’s a movie of the same. I thanked her for her recommendation and reserved it at the library that evening.

I’m a fan of historical fiction & if it’s well written I’m on board! I’m currently reading Vanishing Smile which is about the Mona Lisa’s theft in 1911 – the case of the most audacious and perplexing art theft ever committed – dun dun duuuuun…........

Here’s a blurb about Pope Joan: “For a thousand years men have denied her existence—Pope Joan, the woman who disguised herself as a man and rose to rule Christianity for two years. The compelling legend who struggles against restrictions her soul cannot accept”.1 week ago

TartsyDid you know?

Today is his 50th birthday and yet I still find him super scrumptious!! Mmmmmmmmmm…

TartsyGame of Thrones

The finale is this evening and after last weeks Red Wedding episode (wow, that was a LOT of death and since I still haven’t finished the books I was shocked) I really can’t wait to see what they’ll do now!!

Also, George R.R. Martin was on Conan and this made me laugh hardily…
