Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

TSESo I finally got myself a new pair of sneakers...

...I’ve been running on my only pair of running shoes since I started running more than a year ago…

I liked them…they’re one of those Nike Air Maxes. It’s been with me for many miles now and I think I should change them out…cause it’s starting to give me some pain on my left foot…

...hey, I figure I definitely need a new pair to start my marathon training, which will be soon…and btw, they’re the Ascis GT1000. 21 months ago

TSE#260 - I remind myself of this everyday...

TSEI'm so ready to do this...

...well, mentally at least. Physically, I need some work. But after I ran my half last July, this is the natural course to take. So, couple days ago, I registered for the SF Marathon. It’ll be on June 16, 2013. The registration fee went up yesterday, so I quickly registered to take advantage of the discount.

Now comes the hard part, training. I’ve been using this site: Marathonrookies.com and it’s very useful. In fact, the web has more than enough resources. And I just brought myself a new pair of running shoes from ASICS. I’m so cited. 22 months ago

TSEYes...

I think that if you don’t workout and you’re pulled toward it…then it’s already a habit…I know for me, if I skip a workout I feel like something is missing and I’m uneasy about it…but I remind myself that life is flexible and not be anal about it…great job!!!

TSEthis is a problem I have had for year...

...my job requires that I sit in front of a computer 90% of the time…that is why I have this goal to remind myself to sit straight everyday…lately, I’ve been doing much better…I guess every occupation has its injury…

TSEDue to finances...

...we decided not to visit Taiwan…plus, our daughter is just too young to remember any part of the trip…we want to make it as worthwhile as possible, so we’ll likely do this when she gets older…

TSEWe went to the Redbull Flugtag event this weekend...

...it’s a competition where teams design and build man-made flying machines and see who can fly the furthest. It’s a silly-fun event really and this year is it’s anniversary. I can’t believe how crowded it was…but most everybody was civil except for a few people smoking weed and public drunkenness. But it got so crowded that we left shortly after it started…

TSEWe're not sure yet...

...but we may also visit Taiwan…my wife has a few friends who live there…and both of us have never been there…and we would love to go…but with a baby, we may not get to enjoy it very much…we’ll see…

TSEWhile not much...

...I donated $20 to help with the hurricane relief effort. I donated via my wife’s church…I wanted to do this couple weeks ago, but was undecided between Red Cross (where I normally donate) or some other organization.

I decided to go with my wife’s church…and luckily, it’s very easy, she doesn’t even have to do it on Sundays. Anyone can donate anytime online…if in case anyone is interested, here’s the site:
