Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

AprilBeautifully said.

Our world can be so dis-empowering, as we’re constantly told that we can’t do this, nor that, and that so and so is impossible. This really bothers me because a lot of people are struggling and they don’t have to. If only everyone acknowledged their power and loved themselves, what would this world become?

Years ago I looked into this goal out of curiosity. Truly, becoming a mermaid wasn’t a legitimate goal for me, but as a Sagittarius, I’m always doing research and trying to collect information. I do check in here everyone once in awhile though.

When I was here though, things did die out eventually and it was quite saddening to see. Although I’m unsure if this goal is possible, I don’t want to stand in anyone’s way. Who knows what is truly possible? What if we all possess amazing power that we’ve been taught to ignore? The human body and mind is extremely intelligent and resilient, much more so than doctors give it credit for. Sorry, I ask a lot of questions :) Especially to myself. 23 months ago

Lol, I know that anything is possible. It’s just that I’ve followed this goal some years ago, and I remember seeing a lot of false claims, false proof, people photoshopping tails and scales onto themselves. I don’t doubt that mermaids exist in the physical realm, but I don’t know if a human can turn into one if not having already incarnated as a mermaid.

I’m not trying to offend anyone here, but I’ve seen a lot of people get their feelings hurt from the people who were lying about having tails. =/

However, as I told the person above, if becoming a mermaid on the physical realm is possible, it’d be very interesting to discover what else this realm is capable of.

I’m looking through your website though. It’s very well constructed. 2 years ago

Do they have photographs supporting the fact that they’ve gotten their tails? Not trying to dismiss anyone’s claims, I’m just asking. I know that there are a variety of things possible in the earth realm, but it’s still a bit limited. For example, you can’t manifest things immediately, or you can’t grow wings and fly. In other realms, however, this is definitely possible…

But before I believe that people have actually grown mermaid tails on this realm, I’d have to see lol. D: I followed this goal years ago, when I was about 14 or 15, I think. I’m 17 now, and there were a LOT of people making false claims about being mermaids, photoshopping pictures, etc.

If becoming a mermaid on this realm is possible, then I’m interested. I don’t want to become a mermaid, but it would be interesting to see that the earth realm is perhaps not as limited as I’d assumed. Sorry for the long response~ 2 years ago

But I don’t think it’s possible to become a mermaid in the physical realm. I’m not trying to insult you, or hurt your feelings, and I’m not saying that mermaids don’t exist. Many, many things are possible here on Earth, but this physical realm still has it’s limitations.

Mermaids probably exist in a different realm. Perhaps you can find it through meditation or through your dreams? You can ask Angels how to do this if you wish.

Feel free to ask questions if you have any~ 2 years ago
