Have started going to a new church that includes meditation as part of the service. I know it sounds wacky, but it seems to be helping. I always feel better after I’ve gone.

Let this go for a while but have been doing guided meditation once a week the past 3 weeks. Unity churches have this available.
No time. Don’t miss it. Will retry this goal in the summer, when my job ends.
Sitting on a towel staring at a candle and trying to keep my mind blank for 10 minutes wasn’t helpful. Was about to chuck the whole thing when I was reminded that I have a guided meditation CD by Dr. Andrew Weil. I kept falling asleep when I listened to it before, but, since I’ve been having trouble sleeping, anyway, I guess this is good, too. Does anyone else have any good suggestions on guided meditations?
I’m trying to meditate 10 minutes/day 3 days/week. Having a lit candle in front of me seems to help, as it’s mesmerizing. When I’m trying to do this, it seems my mind wanders all over the place. Other times, usually when I’m supposed to be concentrating on something else, I’m alarmed at how blank my mind is. It seems like it might even be dangerous to encourage this in myself, but what the hey, it’s worth a try. LOTS of people recommend this. Sure, they might be kooks, but I don’t think they’re lying kooks when they say it helps them. Some might even say I’m a kook. Have only been trying about 3 weeks.
