Started a new job in early February and haven’t been able to make time to ride until today.
Last time I went out, I discovered that my chain was trying to come apart. I fixed that on Saturday so my wife and I could ride on Sunday, only to find her front tire flat on Sunday morning. It was a slow leak, so we filled the tire back up and headed for the trails. On the way, decided we had better patch the tire and got some Slime to put in it. At the trailhead, I deflated the tire, added the Slime, filled the tire back up and pop the tube blew out. :(
Replaced the tube Sunday night (crappy factory tube blew out along a weld seam) and we got up early and rode 6K this morning!

I rode from the trailhead near my house to downtown and back. I need to add another 1.5K and I’ll be training over the 20K distance for a sprint triathlon. Now to shave my time down from 1.5 hours! :)
...since I can’t swim, don’t run, and don’t own a bike, but ever since high school I’ve thought this would be cool. My “5 year plan” includes “develop more discipline” and training for a triathlon would certainly do that.
I’ll need to get “learn to swim” and “run a marathon” off my list first though.
And maybe having it on my list for the world to see will help.
