Friede is finally studying for the next board exam!
was had by all. Thanks KM for hosting at your house. I think you guys marked the accomplishment in style. I had fun running the grill and eventually getting to play with your delightful young boy.

I think a rockin time was had by all. There was a bit of getting ready stress, but people started arriving pretty early. My mix of music did well, the food was great, the people were lovely, the root-beer keg was popular, the grilling was flawless. There was only one tragedy and that was my crockpotted BBQ beans. They had a slightly burned taste. Plus I got stung by a wasp – but even that couldn’t dent my fabulous mood.
Also, for most of the time there was at least one child to play with my boy – and a big shout out to all the adults who did time either playing ping-pong or beanbag toss with him. I don’t think he ate anything but potato chips or cake. He was pretty wound up and I made my peace with a long evening, but at 8:15 he said he was tired and he went off to bed. Lovely.
I’m going to curl up and sleep forever now.

I think people are actually coming! Weird.
The weeds have been cut back a bit and the garage has been swept. This morning I have to make a fruit salad, pick up balloons and beer, capture and isolate the cat, get Bib’s answers for her questions – then update and print out the quiz. Oh yeah, we should set up the tables and chairs also. I put some BBQ beans in the crockpot last night and they smell really odd. Not sure if those are going to make it to the event.
The boy slept at Grandma’s last night and he has already called to find out when he can come home and change into his party shirt.

So we’re planning on having a fun quiz with silly questions about both of our time in our MLIS program.
Questions like:
3. KnttinMama turned in her papers and online tutorial for her incomplete in ‘User Instruction’ on April 28, 2008. This was the final day of the Spring term. How many days later did she receive her grade?
(Name changed to protect the innocent)
The purpose is to have a little fun and have an ice-breaker for all the people from different walks of life.
Answer to question
3. KnittinMama received her grade on July 9, 2008. That is 72 days. It really makes the struggle to get it in by the end of the quarter a bit silly, don’t you think?
I’ve sent you an email Bibliomane (can I call you Bib for short?)

No grills at Target – however, I got ping-pong paddles (but they were out of balls), a bean-bag game, and an extra garbage can. Not only were there no grills, but there were no, “Hello, my name is” nametags. Perhaps it is fate.
Perhaps we will play ping-pong with the bean-bags. I sense a new Olympic event….

After much deliberation and consultation, have selected a big old devil’s food cake with the chocolate fudge icing. Yay!

I tried and failed to buy a grill today. Seems the season is over. I did succeed in getting the paper goods from Cub. The remaining items are completely do-able.
