Well, I don’t think I technically did anything new, but I went to a lot of new places, and in doing so fell in love with Derbyshire.
I’m really gonna get going with this in September- its a lot easier when I’m at University, too. I’m very excited…

I failed pretty miserably at doing anything new last month, unless I did, and don’t remember it. In which case, it doesn’t really count, since it was so insignificant.
Redoubling my efforts this month- done one already, and am hoping for several.
Wish me luck- any fun or interesting suggestions would be welcome!
I’ve done a couple of things this month:
Went to Glastonbury- the town, not the festival
Took up yoga, and fully intend to continue
Wrote some short stories and poetry- finally committed it all to paper
Took part in the University ‘May Dip’. This is a tradition, stemming from the Celtic festival of Beltane at about this time of year, in which the students bathe in the North Sea at sunrise on May 1st. In doing so, we are cleansed of our academic sins, which are:
1. Committing academic incest (that is, with members of your academic family…another story altogether)
2. Standing on the initials of a heretic burned in the town, which are set in the pavement outside the Quad.
3. Fastening your college gown.
All of these, if not cleansed away, can cause you to fail your degree. For extra luck, we washed our faces in the May dew. Fingers crossed…
