I made my first payment to Sallie Mae online today. It was only $30 even though I currently owe them more than $100, but it’s better than nothing. I do feel a TINY bit better.

This year for my birthday, my parents caught me up on what I owed so far to my school! That’s a little bit of weight off my back!
So I never received an economic stimulus check. Yes I am a US citizen. No, no one claimed me as a dependent. Yes, I had a job all year and payed all of my taxes.
Thanks US government, for totally fucking me over. My mom’s friend said that a lot of people in the 18-24 age group got screwed over for the economic stimulus thing. Apparently you had to earn a certain amount according to your age? My sister was 17, earned way less money than me (as she was in high school) and SHE got a stimulus check. All I did was work last year and I got nothing. I’m going to have to call the IRS and straighten it out for sure.
Anyways, the reason I mention all of that is because I was planning on using that money to catch up on paying off my student loans. Now I have nothing to contribute to my loans. I just got a new job (after being jobless for a couple months) and I probably won’t have steady money coming in for a couple weeks. I really want to get this monkey off of my back, so as soon as I find out how much I’ll be making weekly, I’m going to make a payment plan for all of these loans. Ugh.
