“Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain,” by Oliver Sacks, the neurologist who wrote “The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat.” It goes into music and synesthesia, Alzheimer’s disease, forms of amnesia, Williams’ syndrome, all sorts of things that link conditions of the human brain with music.
I had been looking for books on music appreciation, but this title seemed like a good substitute for today.
