remember the things I used to believe in as a kid

• That a road never ended, it just kept going.
• On a really windy day if you put your feet up in the air, you could fly.
• Bad people live in closets if you shut the door.
• A song playing on the radio would stop playing when you turned the radio off and would start back up where you left off.

In Kindergarten I told my friends that I was an American Indian. I used to believe that Americans who have diverse ethnic backgrounds (in my case Italian, English, Irish and Hispanic) are automatically American Indians. I think I internalized the terms “melting pot” and “Native American” and came up with my own understanding of what it means to be American.

Around the age of eight I wished that I had been born an African American because I thought they were so much cooler than white people!

I used to believe that I had an invisible “bird teacher” who was teaching me how to fly.

I thought that the world really used to be black and white – just like the old movies.

then I saw the Wizard of Oz…when Dorothy opened the door of her house when she landed… to all that color…well, I thought that world turned color right then.

strange, huh?

I believed that if I could believe in something that it could become real. Gave me a rather twisted way to look at life in the end. :)

was? i know he still is! he’s been my faithful companion through thick and thin, and i love him dearly.
His name is Teddy, but he’s forgiven me for that.

I used to believe that Care Bears lived in the clouds; that horses and cows hated each other like cats and dogs do; and that my teddy bear came alive at night.

I used to believe that everyone in my life were just actors – some playing multiple roles – and I was the only one not in on it. The theory supported by the fact that some people look like others.

• That factories make clouds.
• That if there won’t be no factories, the sky would be clear.
• In super-heros, monsters, witches, ghosts, vampires, Santa Clause, midgets, the tooth fairy, in magic and in aliens.
• That aliens were going to come into my house and abduct me.
• That mummies were wrapped in toilet paper.
• That toys come alive when you’re asleep.
• That when one died he/she lives eternally on the clouds.
• That our dead relatives used to watch us all the time.
• That the conductor of an orchestra waved a magic wand and made the instruments play by themselves.
• That I had hidden telekinesis powers (being able to move objects using only the power of the mind).
• That I had hidden powers that enabled me to become invisible.
• That Hannah Barbera was a woman (not two men).
• That spinach made me strong.
• That all thieves had black masks around their eyes and bags with dollar signs.
• That therefore the police have an easy job spoting who is a thieve.
• That it is possible to reach the end of a rainbow
• That there are burried treasures at the end of rainbows
