This is still making me chuckle…
I order my dead animal products from a butcher that delivers to my work, and pick up a box every couple of months. This week I ordered some beef, chicken, and just for a change – some sausages (I’m not the world’s biggest fan, which is relevant in a bit…). The smallest quantity you can order is 1kg, which costs £6. So apparently the woman had written the ‘£6’ beside that line on my order… and it was… slightly misread?
Imagine, if you will, opening a (why is it so heavy?) box, to find rather more packs of sausages than you’d ordered! Now, given that the kilo turns out to be 20 sausages, and I found myself with 6kg… that’s 120 sausages!!
The lady on the phone was very apologetic, and told me as it was their mistake I was free to keep them. Urm. Thanks. ::gulp::
I had a bizarre morning going around my colleagues asking if they liked sausages – “Great! Would you like ten or twenty?!”
::chuckle::
Today I voted for the Springfield I think is most-deserving of hosting The Simpsons Movie premiere… Springfield, Oregon, of course! I might be a tad bit partial… my mom grew up in Eugene (Shelbyville) and much of my family still lives in the Eugene/Springfield area. Nonetheless, goooo Oregon!

Looky here
Y’know, this really wasn’t the reason I enjoyed the movie, but I’m starting to think I could be persuaded ‘round to that way of looking at it ;)
There’s also a PG version, with flowers, kitties and lots of cake. Favourite altered lines: “Tonight we dine in heck!” and, “Then we shall hug in the shade” :)
I offer this bit-o-hilarity. It’s a website featuring loads of old-skool Valentines with commentary. Some of ‘em are just freaky. Here is my favorite. Love the elegantly draped bit of fabric…
I’m not really known for my spontaneity. I like to research and plan plan plan. Well, on Friday afternoon my friend N (who lives in Texas) called. We were both whining about how we had a three-day weekend coming up but nothing fun planned. Somehow the conversation led to us going on a trip and before I knew it, we were both booking plane tickets for Los Angeles and researching how to get from LAX to… Disneyland! Yup, I went to Disneyland over the weekend. Some people plan for months or even years, saving up for a trip to see Mickey, and N and I just decide the night before that we’re gonna go. (Hooray for mileage points!) It was especially funny since neither of us are exactly “Disney people” (not that there’s anything wrong with Disney people, but we’re just not so much into the whole thing). Before long, we were caught up in the fun and had Minnie Mouse hats and were riding on It’s a Small World with giant grins on our faces.
It was just so much fun to go have a spontaneous, no worries sort of weekend with N. Especially since she’s deploying for Iraq at the end of this month, so I don’t know when I’ll see her next. We felt so wild, going on such a sudden trip. What’s funny is that we felt like we were such wild girls, and yet, we chose Disneyland of all places. We’re all about the G-rated fun!
The funniest part of all? N and I both went to Disneyland with our high school band about ten years ago. In fact, that trip was really when we started to become such good friends. Well, when we were hastily trying to book an Anaheim hotel on Friday night, we joked about how hilarious it’d be if we ended up staying in the same ghetto hotel we stayed at when we went back in high school. Much to our surprise, we did end up in the same hotel!
[That’s N and I on the Tower of Terror I’m on the front left and N is the one who has a death grip on my arm.]
A few years ago, my coworker and I were completely addicted to this site. The games have the cutest graphics ever. Like, seriously. The cutest. Ever.
If there’s a ton of work you should be doing right now, don’t click the above link, because it will totally suck you in :)

What with my silly addiction to neopets and jigsawdoku
So instead of beating myself up for wasting time, I’m going to do my damnedest to limit that time, and enjoy every 6-year-old minute of the pretty colours and mindless fun!
