get corrective eye surgery or lasik

My health care does not cover this procedure because it is considered “Cosmetic”! my goodness.

Should I go ahead with it?

Booked in to see two specialists. Will get a quote. Have saved up for this but am still concerned about $$$$. Will I lose sharpness and contract in my vision after the procedure?

My optometrist mentioned LASIK during one of my regular checkups. She recommended that I consider it given my condition. Am waiting for the referral letter to come and off I go.. Just as well I’ve saved up a bit for this

I find my lifestyle is partly dictated by my contact lenses – if they get dry i feel tired without noticing they are dry, and just want to go home. It’s not until I am home, taking my contacts out ans wearing my goggles that I feel better and more energetic – and my contacts are the 24hr, you-can-sleep-in-them-because-they-allow-oxygen-in types

I am going to ring the clinic and book a consultation in late August/early September

as I am starting to lose my short term memory – in the form of keep forgetting where I last put my glasses!

I’m getting tired of wearing contacts and glasses. I will book in for a consultation when I get back from NZ

Didn’t think I was going to change jobs this year. Coupled with newly acquired interest in shiny rocks this goal is thus deferred for a while

It appears that I also have eye floaters. Not sure if this is going to complicate the procedure. On the other hand, maybe I can get two surgeries done, with a discount..?

Exactly how “minor” is this risk?
