I keep buying more than I can read! I see one I want, and it’s like I have no control over myself. I literally have no money for food next week because I bought a book I wanted. I’m not reselling it either. I need to set up something like what Zoesdare (hi! haven’t talked to you in a while. How are things going for ya?) has. Also, as I’m moving out, I’ll take 5 or so books with me each visit home and switch them out as I read them… that could work… the only problem comes when determining which should be the first to come with me… wish me luck!

I keep buying them. It’s a disease.
Beloved gave me a solution, however. Get a shelf upon which to place unread books, and don’t buy any more than you can fit on that shelf.
I’m taking this up as my new method for reading books I bought, and considering this goal complete.

I’m posting this on several different goals, because it fits so it’s going there. I’m going to go on an internet fast, starting tomorrow. I spend way too much time on here, and if I spent even half as much time working on getting closer to God, it would be well worth it. After a meeting in church tonight, I’ll update my blog and then not get on for a week or two. I’m going to spend most of my time in my Bible, praying, reading (other than my Bible), and exercising. This will add up to a much better me. I’m excited. I know it’ll be hard though, so I’m going to ask for your prayers and support, because I am definitely an internet junkie. I figure, if my youth pastor (who had Mountain Dew flowing through his veins) can give up caffeine, I can give up spending so much time on the internet.

Finished! Ended two in one day. A good, powerful read about crowd thought/action and the British fooball supporters.

Attorney of the Damned
I finished another one!
A Decent read, but I wouldn’t recommend it to people.

I’ve been working on this recently – just hit the halfwaypoint last night, and will try to finish it by tommorow.

If I’m going to do this right, I need to clear off the bookshelves of stuff I’m not interested in anymore, and make a list of the stuff I want to read.
A partial list of stuff I’ve started but not finished:
The Pursuit of Love – Nancy Mitford
Love in a Cold Climate – Nancy Mitford
Among the Thugs – Bill Buford «Finished!
Endangered Pleasures – Barbara Holland
Great Dames – Marie Brenner
The Hours – Michael Cunningham
The Man – Irving Wallace
The Island of the Colorblind – Oliver Sacks
Attorney for the Damned – Dennis Woychuk «Finished!
We’ll see what I get finished out of this list in the days to come.

I have to clean out my bookshelves, they’re getting too full. Hopefully I’ll be able to find some i’ve been meaning to read, bought with the intention or reading, started but never finished reading, etc. I think I’ll go do that now and then spend the next month or two solely catching up on my reading.

I’m making good headway on this, about halfway through it. I picked it up from Von’s the first day they were open after the fire. So far it’s everything I would expect out of a mitford book.
Wish me luck!

I just finished it, and all I can say is wow. The ending really messes with your mind.
One more book off the list.
