Lose 100 lbs. (read all 15 entries…)
Yesterday was the end... 3 years ago

...of the company health center’s winter lifestyle change program. I had signed up in January to help give me incentive with my weight loss. To date, I have lost 18lbs, 4” from my waist and 3” from my hips. I can also jog (slowly) for 3 miles without stopping. I am sleeping better, and have more energy to get up and down off the floor with my little daughter. I can also wear my wedding ring again!

I hope I’ll be able to keep the motivation up and continue with my healthy plan.

Anyway, thanks for listening, everyone! It’s nice to know that there are many sympathetic people out there rooting for me.

I was able to get my wedding ring on! 3 years ago

But now I can’t get it off!!!

Maybe that will be my next weight-loss goal: Lose enough weight to remove my wedding ring…. :D

That means I’ll try my wedding ring on this weekend! Wish me luck!

This is REALLY hard. It’s especially hard because I look in the mirror, and to myself, I don’t look any different. My clothes are maybe a little looser, but nothing spectacular. So, I’ve got to keep that motivation going. When I get to 220, I’ll try my wedding ring on for size again!

What's your motivation? 3 years ago

I was thinking about this last night. What will be a good motivator to get me through the tough times that are certain to come up in the future?

There are, of course, the usual abstract reasons: “to be thin”, “to be healthy”, “to be fit”. I prefer more easily measured goals; preferably small, incremental, and achievable.

So, here’s what I am working for:
  • To be able to wear my wedding ring again (right now, this is my biggest motivator)
  • To be able to order clothes from the Title 9 catalog (I love their stuff, but they only go up to 14/16)
  • To have my thighs stop rubbing together

Okay, so that last one is kind of nebulous! But, it would be nice to be able to wear a skirt and not have chafing.

I'm overwhelmed... 3 years ago

...by all the supportive replies I got to my latest entry. Thank you, everybody! It’s really nice to know that I’m not alone doing this.

I can’t believe that I’m actually persisting with this. It’s hard keeping my patience up, though. I want to be thin now!

I think my pants feel a little looser. I’m trying not to get complacent. Success can easily go straight to my head!

Well, another pound. My big challenge for a while is going be patience. I seem to have found something that works for me (moderate portions and exercise), but I have to accept that this will be a slow process. I hope I can stay motivated!

I’ve also lost 3 inches around my waist and 1.5 inches around my hips. I guess self-control is worth it after all! Although, of course I would prefer to be able to lose weight while chowing down on a huge bowl of buttery popcorn every night. Sigh. I’ll still limit it to Saturdays….
