Took out a 401k loan and paid off all but the biggest card, so I’m focusing on that one now, and this should impact my credit rating also and allow me to get a better rate on buying a house as soon as I have closing money saved up.

Woohoo! Way to go, me!
Had some unexpected expenses, so I won’t be able to get my reward MP3 player until next month, most likely. But am staying on cash basis, and sticking to the plan.
Next, I have 2-3 months to pay off the next card, my Lowes’ Visa. This one will get closed when I pay it off. I’m shooting for payoff in May, but my plan allows until June if necessary.
Bought the bed… cost more than we planned, but still have some left over from the refund, and that’s in savings now. Have resisted the urge to use what was left for goodies or to accelerate payoffs… we need the emergency fund more.
Paid 1/2 of the totals on the 2 small Visas, will pay the rest of both of them in March as planned. Still need to write and close the LB account, the jerks.
Well, in January, I paid off my Lane Bryant account (which I will close out… they have been jerks and I don’t need the account anyway) as well as my Discount Tire account.
I also cleared my back taxes with the IRS, having it taken out of my refund.
That puts me on track with my financial plan. Challenge for February… DO NOT SPEND THE REFUND OUTSIDE OF THE PLAN!!!
We are in desperate need of a new bed, that will come out of the refund. The rest of the refund is to go into savings. That is my biggest challenge for February. I have the two small Visa’s scheduled to pay off in Feb & Mar as well, but not with refund money.
