do an international food swap through the mail with other 43things members

yay! have just been to kathya’s blog and seen her risoles photos… :) don’t forget to post photos of the pandan cake too!

wooooo, today i finally got the risoles, bacang, kue lapis legit, kerupuk palembang and a few more bits and pieces to bring to germany with me… mudah2an gue bisa nyari boks yg big enough for this purpose.

i checked with the shop and they said it was ok to not refrigerate the bacang and risoles and kue lapis legit for up to 2-3 days, after which it should be consumed right away or refrigerated.

the plan is for me to mail the stuff in berlin from karen’s house, as they might survive the trip better… buset, si kat bisa pesta makanan next week di wiesbaden…

yay! corn dogs and hanutas from kathya arrived last night, yay! i’m going to eat the corn dogs tonight…

oh, and the cool thing is, kathya packed the corn dogs with a frozen gel pack, in a keep-things-cool foil bag, which is how i think i’m going to send my frozen goods to her… gel pack is sitting in my freezer, ready for its next journey…

hey kat, elo suka risoles kan? ada lumpia disini enakkkk lohhh… yummm….

yay! kathya+american army base+ germany = hanuta+duplo+girl scout cookies+(maybe) corn dogs for me… hahahaha….

i wonder if he can send yorkshire pudding in the mail? oh, or PG-Tips pyramid teabags? or branston’s pickles?

... and i am hoping someone in the food swap will send me some of the food on the list:

• girl scout cookies: the chocolate-covered peanut butter kind
• corn dogs
• dulce de leche
• banh-mi sandwich (even though i never had one, the recipes i found look good and makes me drool and i imagine myself eating one, on a new york street while robert takes blurry pictures of me and the taste will linger on long after the trip)
• pastéis de belem
• empanadas

i’m thinking of who i can invite to join my team of international food-swappers… first on the list kathya of course… wonder if she’ll send me some canned bratwurst?
