My sister gave me a great picture of my father’s family which I scanned in. It’s a picture of my dad and his 5 brothers and 1 sister and their mother. I’m not sure when it was taken but it has to be quite a while ago. Sadly my dad and his older brother are the only 2 still alive today. Click on the picture for a better view.

I’ve done this pretty much as much as I can right now without spending a lot of money that I don’t have. I’ll keep doing it as a side-line without needing this goal open.
Since coming home from Jena I have got a little further with this goal. With a little help from my friends. Some very kind people I know on a genealogy forum do look-ups for me on census returns because I am too poor to afford subscriptions for these things.
I’m going to get it printed out tomorrow on a 1.4 X 0.4 meters poster (!!)
you can examine it more closely here (click on “download the original size” – it’s quite big):

In this final version I have decided to show only (!) 27 generations back, rather than the 87 generations (!!!!) I found recently thanks to some Google searches, mainly because it would take a while to figure out if they are real.
My family tree chart was done based on the research made by my Late Grandfather Knut, My mother and her Swedish aunt. Back when they did their research in the 80’s they weren’t able to chart all that info up on one chart.
The main purpose of doing this chart was to visualize my family tree in honor of my late grandfather’s work and to create a digital backup on the web just in case the originals get lost.
I got the missing part of my family tree a few days ago – the swedish part. Now I just need now to make a hard copy of it and send it back to my grandmother’s sister in sweeden.
When I’ll come back to Israel from my vication in Norway I’m planning on printing it out on a big poster and make copies to my relatives too.
Mother Brando is being a master blaster
no kings, no queens,no astronauts. human flaws and all, they were Just good people doing their best.I’ve gone back 12 generations, i would have to learn italian to continue and i have no motivation to learn italian beyond what little i have.I could go latterally but i already know i have a gillion cousins .Eventually I will chart more but in reality I have gone as far back i as i want at this point.I am here, they helped shape the family i’m in good bad or indifferent .I’m calling this done for now.
I had a major break through today – my mother found out that although that first ancestor of mine lied about his father – there is still a huge tree on his mother side which is connected to even more kings and queens ..!
to be continued..
So far I’ve been doing this on paper. I got a trial program free with a magazine, but never really got the hang of it. Do and of you recommend a particular program (for a pc) that I can splash out on when I graduate?
let’s see anyone here beats this ;)
With help of my mother, once again I managed to make progres on this, finishing the connection to our oldest ancestors we know of .. the connection goes all the way up to the Norweigian kings at the start of the last millenium..
View a full sized chart over here !!
there are still a lot of names which are listed in my grandfather’s old notes which I plan on adding to my tree soon..
