It is hard for me not to compare myself with others. Then I remember that God has given each of us a special gift.
We are not going to be good at everything. I don’t have to feel inferior to others who do things better than I can. I do have special talents that I can share with others.
My strengths are in encouraging people by giving them hope and optimism for their lives. My real gift is in teaching.
That is my main gift. I need to learn to focus on my natural talents and recognize my limitations.

what my new plans are. They have been formulating for a year now. Yet I’m not clear if it will be a business enterprise tied together as my corporation or a non-profit organization, foundation or ministry. Possibly a combination?
The view is there. I just need to know how to put it together.

If truth be told I would take the real estate goals off of my new life plan…been there, done that.
That would leave more time and room in my life for the creative arts center, children’s cooking school and production company.
Surprisingly that frightens me…the unknown and all.
What would I do if I knew I could not fail?

someone would have told me I would have ended a long term relationship, packed my bags and moved 3000 miles away from my life as I knew it. Solo. I would have told them they had a great imagination.
My life had become pretty dysfuctional because I was floating around without a plan for the first time in my life. I had let others take control.
Well here I am 3000 miles away from where I was a year ago. solo. Able to lead whatever life I can imagine.
It’s time to create a new plan. :)

My life plan is unfolding before me. All the steps I’ve taken in my life til now have been determined by instincts…to satisfy creative, personal fulfillment goals (as opposed to wise investments or financial stability). I’m not advocating this route, as financial stability is very wise. But it seems I am destined to continue in that mode!
I am very curious to see where life will be in a year from now. Will I have fulfilled these goals:
1. Take two statistics courses in preparation for applying to grad school.
2. Apply to grad school (essays, GRE, etc.)
3. Leave my current job by either next Sept. or Dec.
4. The M – word (Dare I say it? No…not yet! But it’s on its way!), which might mean moving.
I will check back to this entry next year!

I don’t want to say I’m done with this, but for now I want to learn to take life as it comes within the framework I’ve worked out in the past few years. I’ve moved to a new city, made friends, come to a job that I am enjoying, and learning about managing money (still got a long way to go there!).
It’s hard to say what my life will be like in 5, or even another 2 years, so for now I have to just “set up” for that life to come.

It’s not exactly a ‘LIFE’ plan, but I need to outline some steps to help me progress.
I see my daily 9 to 5 as just a job. Around me there are those striving for greater goals. Education, or research, etc. If I figure into what I do every day, some element of what would push me further in life that might change the way I see my day to day.
I have the opportunity to really LEARN as I will be sitting in on a statistics class this fall. Also, I should look into the two research assistance opportunities that have come up.
Hope to check this one off in a few months.

this out. We do get what we ask for in life. So this time I am being very careful.
