identify 100 things that make me happy (besides money)

I don’t like to get stuck in the rain all the time, but sometimes (when I don’t have to worry about arriving somewhere wet) its fun to just walk home slowly, allowing the rain to soak through you. Sometimes I get myself so wound up, cursing for not having an umbrella, but I don’t think I have ever arrived home without a smile on my face. Some of my favorite travel stories are from when I have been buzzing around trying to see all I can, and then it rains and I have to duck into a coffee shop, or take shelter under an awning, and then when I let things slow down I finally start to appreciate what is really around me….

Freshly sharpened pencils. I like using an electric sharpener too…whenever I use the manual ones I get a little over enthusiastic and end up breaking the lead. The best part is writing with the pencil just after you sharpen it and the point is super fine!! Hmmm….this entry makes it sound like I should get out more! : )

The knowledge that a long weekend is just on the horizon!

Movies with happy endings…I love em! I know that they’re not really realistic…but I like the fantasy that there could be a world out there where everything ends up being good. Where people live happily ever after, and wrongs can be righted in 2 hours.

A few years ago I had this big list of things that I was always stressed out about. Gradually I have ticked things off the list. Going to the dentist and then have to go back to get my wisdom teeth out was a big fear of mine. Now its done and I don’t have to worry about it anymore! Hooray! Sweet freedom!

Okay, how sad is this? I haven’t even eaten all my easter candy yet, but I noticed that there was a whole bunch on sale when I was at this store today. So I had to buy a few small things because I just cannot resist a sale…or chocolate….so really what is better than chocolate on sale? (Don’t think anyone can top that!)

You know ice that forms over a puddle, but it is paper thin, and you can see that it is just a thin cover but that the puddle is hollow otherwise. I cannot resist stepping on ice like that when I pass it. I just love the noise that it makes! This morning there was a bunch of ice like that when I was walking down the street. I had to stop and walk on it all because you never know when good ice like that will be around again. There was one other woman walking down the street and she was looking at me as though I was crazy. I suppose only little kids can get away with stuff like this.

For some reason I just think things look cuter when they are larger and fluffy. I like big cats, I like big caterpillers…I just think the extra layers make them seem more huggable!
